Boards play a large role in a nonprofit’s success. Before you can ensure your board is effectively carrying out its roles and responsibilities, you need to make sure you have the right people in place through intentional and ongoing strategic recruitment. WCF is excited to partner with the Nonprofit Association of Washington to host Board Recruitment and Development, a workshop for nonprofits on and/or serving Whidbey Island. Since becoming an affiliate of Dolly Parton’s Imagination Library in December 2022, we’re proud to have 1,444 local children enrolled—the highest number yet! Over 500 children have graduated and started kindergarten, equipped with a love of reading. This program provides free books to all children under five, regardless of income, and our success is thanks to the support of local libraries, pediatricians, and early learning professionals.
