Boards play a large role in a nonprofit’s success. Before you can ensure your board is effectively carrying out its roles and responsibilities, you need to make sure you have the right people in place through intentional and ongoing strategic recruitment. WCF is excited to partner with the Nonprofit Association of Washington to host Board Recruitment and Development, a workshop for nonprofits on and/or serving Whidbey Island. Happening April 8 from 9am - 1pm. This workshop is $10 to attend. RSVP today: https://lnkd.in/gERmRYxF

About us
Whidbey Community Foundation (WCF) envisions a more vibrant, healthy, and unified Whidbey Island community. Our mission is to improve the quality of life on Whidbey Island by providing support for the nonprofit sector, assisting donors to build and preserve enduring assets for charitable purposes, and meeting community needs through financial awards. As a community foundation, we act as an independent, publicly supported philanthropic organization established and operated to build a permanent collection of endowed funds for the long-term benefit of Whidbey Island. We actively seek financial contributions and provide grants to support a broad range of charitable activities on Whidbey. WCF also provides technical support to nonprofits through training and networking. We know that supporting nonprofit organizations allows Whidbey, and the people who call Whidbey home, to thrive now and in the future.

Since becoming an affiliate of Dolly Parton’s Imagination Library in December 2022, we’re proud to have 1,444 local children enrolled—the highest number yet! Over 500 children have graduated and started kindergarten, equipped with a love of reading. This program provides free books to all children under five, regardless of income, and our success is thanks to the support of local libraries, pediatricians, and early learning professionals. Together, we’re helping nurture a lifelong passion for reading in our community! 📚✨ Learn more: https://lnkd.in/gA8PEFUn
