The Chief Advancement Officer (CAO) is a senior leadership role responsible for developing and executing a comprehensive fundraising strategy that advances the mission of Whitaker Center. The CAO will oversee all aspects of the organization’s advancement activities, including donor engagement, philanthropic partnerships, fundraising campaigns, and external communications. This individual will work closely with the CEO, Board of Directors, and other key stakeholders to ensure alignment between fundraising goals and the strategic objectives of the organization. The CAO will also play a critical role in cultivating a culture of philanthropy both internally and externally. Tonight, during our Light Up the Night event, the evening took an unexpected turn when our fire alarms were activated. Thanks to the swift action of our dedicated staff, volunteers, and security team, all guests were safely evacuated in an orderly and timely manner. We are relieved and grateful to confirm that everyone is safe and that our facility has been cleared to resume business as usual. A heartfelt thank you to the Harrisburg Bureau of Fire for their prompt response and to the Harrisburg Police Department for their support. We also want to recognize our incredible guests for their cooperation and positivity throughout this process. Safety is, and always will be, our top priority. While this was not how we expected the evening to end, it highlighted the strength of our team and the extraordinary community that surrounds the Whitaker Center. Thank you to everyone who helped ensure a safe resolution. We'll be back tomorrow Wednesday, November 27th, ready to continue inspiring curiosity and joy in science and the arts.
