“It ain’t about how hard ya hit. It’s about how hard you can get hit and keep moving forward.” - Rocky Balboa This weekend, I did the Rocky Run 13.1 mile Italian Stallion challenge in Philadelphia. A wonderful race celebrating an iconic movie franchise. While my running journey often stays on Instagram, this particular race and message felt like it needed to be shared here, too. In work and in life, challenges hit us hard. Rocky’s famous quote reminds us that resilience isn’t just about strength—it’s about the ability to withstand setbacks, keep learning, and push forward even when it’s tough. This is the heart of the stories I share on Why I Left: people who have faced adversity and found the courage to move forward, transforming obstacles into stepping stones for growth. Whether in career transitions or personal journeys, the ability to “keep moving forward” is how winning is truly done. Wishing you all a resilient week ahead!

Meeting the roaring nurse: Joan Pons Laplana If you’ve been following Why I Left from the beginning, you may recall Brian Aquart’s interview with him in Season 1 around #mentalhealth. It was a transformative conversation for the show. His raw transparency about the struggles he faced as a #nurse on the frontlines during the pandemic garnered a lot of positive feedback and appreciation. So much so, that it was the main reason why, in Season 2, we dedicated 2 months of content to mental health. Can’t thank him enough for coming on the show and it was awesome to meet in real life. Now, we’ll both be running the NYC Marathon tomorrow! #whyileftpodcast
