About us
In just over four years, Wilkinson Stekloff has established itself as the leading trial litigation boutique in the country. Our innovative business model allows us to serve our clients efficiently while maintaining our commitment to developing the next generation of trial lawyers. We have achieved successful outcomes for our clients before, during, and after trial in some of the toughest jurisdictions in America, with a growing bench of trial lawyers. Since the firm’s founding, eight Wilkinson Stekloff lawyers have had first- or second-chair roles in prominent trials, and many more have achieved significant on-their-feet experience, including through pro bono cases. Our model is working. Based on our successes so far, Benchmark Litigation has twice named Wilkinson Stekloff the “Boutique Firm of the Year,” calling the firm a “litigator’s dream shop.” Vault has recently ranked Wilkinson Stekloff as the third most selective midsize law firm, the second best midsize law firm for compensation, and the third best midsize law firm for diversity. Our attorneys and trial wins have also received countless accolades in leading industry publications including The American Lawyer, Law360, and Chambers. Our attorneys have now tried over 130 cases to verdict, almost 20 of which occurred since the firm opened its doors. We know that trials are won by tight-knit teams of smart, innovative, and highly skilled litigators committed to delivering excellent results for their clients. That is who we are. Our associates are the best and brightest young lawyers in the country. Educated at the nation’s best law schools, these top-caliber women and men have exceptional energy, experience, and talent. They have spent considerable time in the courtroom and they share our passion for trial work as well as our commitment to outstanding client service. Associate Jeremy Shur, along with former Associate Guus Duindam, prevailed in a pro bono matter before the Court of Appeals for the Second Circuit, securing an outcome that preserves the right of the client, an incarcerated individual, to seek an exemption from filing fees when pursuing future actions related to the violation of his civil rights. Wilkinson Stekloff has maintained a deep and lasting commitment to providing pro bono representation. Since its 2016 founding, the firm has handled more than 100 pro bono matters, with the vast majority of its attorneys devoting significant time across areas including family law, immigration, post-conviction representation, appeals, and filing amicus briefs. https://lnkd.in/eVeBjSjZ

Congratulations to Partner Jeremy Barber on being named a “Notable Leader in Law” by Crain's New York Business. A former federal prosecutor and experienced trial attorney, Jeremy has brought more than 30 cases to trial before judges and jurors. Most recently, he served as lead trial counsel defending fintech company Plaid against trademark infringement claims brought by PNC Bank, delivering numerous pretrial wins before negotiating a settlement on the eve of trial. He also oversees the firm’s pro bono practice and has participated on or coordinated over 100 pro bono matters since the firm’s 2016 founding. https://lnkd.in/ePJqdWaa

Wilkinson Stekloff Associates Logan L. Page and Dhruti Patel prevailed in a pro bono matter challenging the dismissal of an incarcerated individual’s case under the Prisoner Litigation Reform Act’s (PLRA) three-strikes rule, resulting in a unanimous precedential decision—authored by Chief Judge Jeffery Sutton— from the Court of Appeals for the Sixth Circuit. In addition to clarifying a previously murky area of law, this outcome allows the firm’s client to continue pursuing claims related to the treatment of a serious medical condition.

ICYMI, Counsel Sarah Neuman was named a Rising Star in The National Law Journal's 2024 Legal Awards. This recognition follows Sarah’s work as a key member of the team dubbed “the legal equivalent of an elite special ops unit” by The American Lawyer for winning the second-biggest merger trial — and largest ever involving a technology company — in American history on behalf of Microsoft.

Wilkinson Stekloff Associates Dhruti Patel and Tania Martinez, with assistance from Counsel Sarah Neuman, recently secured asylum for a pro bono client fleeing a lifetime of persecution based on his LGBTQ+ status in his home country of Colombia. The client’s mistreatment culminated in a brutal attack carried out by state actors in 2023 on account of the client’s sexual orientation. The client’s attackers continued to pursue him after the attack, even threatening to kill him. The firm has maintained a deep and lasting commitment to providing pro bono representation. Since its 2016 founding, Wilkinson Stekloff has handled more than 100 pro bono matters, with the vast majority of its attorneys devoting significant time across areas including family law, immigration, post-conviction representation, appeals, and filing amicus briefs. https://lnkd.in/gTPZkbyz
