Protecting families and business owners with legal tools through estate planning and business planning
About us
Windrose Law Center is a boutique law firm committed to helping individuals and families with estate planning. asset protection, legacy planning, and business succession planning. Kristin Moye has focused on risk management and succession planning issues since 2011. After running her own estate planning and business law firm for several years, founding attorney Kristin Moye began exclusively advising attorneys on the best ways to minimize their risk and create successful businesses. She never lost sight of her passion for estate planning and asset protection as she coached business owners on the best way to develop their succession plan. Friends still continued to approach her to help them answer the question, "What would happen to my family if I did not make it home tonight?" Ms. Moye realized that for too many people, the answer to this question for too many people is that a court would get involved. Probate might ensue. A judge could decide. Kristin expanded her scope of practice to not only help small businesses but to also help individuals and families plan their legacy and protect their assets.

🔍 Think Your Estate Plan Life changes fast—buying a home, welcoming a child, or entering retirement all impact your estate plan. But is your will, trust, or power of attorney truly up to date? 📌 Here’s why it matters: ✅ An outdated will or trust could send assets to the wrong people. ✅ Missing or invalid power of attorney documents could force your family into court just to manage your affairs. ✅ Beneficiary designations override your will—are yours current? 💡 Real-life estate planning mistakes we’ve seen: ❌ DIY wills that fail to meet Arizona’s legal requirements. ❌ Ex-spouses left as beneficiaries due to outdated documents. ❌ Online power of attorney forms that aren’t valid in Arizona, causing expensive legal battles. If you live in Scottsdale, Peoria, or the greater Phoenix area, this checklist will help you assess if your estate plan is solid—or if it’s time for a legal review. 📅 Don’t leave your future to chance. Let’s make sure your estate plan protects your loved ones. 🚨 What Happens If You Die Without a Will in Arizona? 🚨 Many people assume their assets will automatically go to their loved ones—but without a valid Arizona will, your estate follows intestate succession laws, which might not align with your wishes. 📌 Here’s what can happen if you don’t have a will: ❌ Your spouse may not inherit everything if you have children from a previous relationship. ❌ Your assets could go to distant relatives instead of close friends or stepchildren. ❌ The court—not you—will decide who cares for your minor children. Avoid the uncertainty and ensure your legacy is protected. 🚗 Should You Put Your Car in Your Trust? Here’s What Arizona Residents Need to Know! 📜 If you have a revocable living trust, you might assume you should transfer your car into it—but in Arizona, that’s often unnecessary. ✅ Liability Risks – If your car is involved in an accident, your trust could be sued. ✅ Retitling Hassle – Each time you buy a new car, you’ll have to retitle it, which can delay financing and add paperwork. ✅ Insurance & Loan Issues – Some lenders won’t allow a car in a trust, and your insurance policy must explicitly include the trust as an insured party. ✅ Arizona Probate Law – Most vehicles can transfer without probate using a simple small estate affidavit process. For most Arizona residents, keeping your car in your personal name is simpler and safer—but if you own multiple high-value vehicles or have specific estate planning goals, it’s worth reviewing your options. https://lnkd.in/g8f5uu9z 📖 Read the full blog post here: https://lnkd.in/gvcQeNnR 📅 Have questions about your estate plan?
