Wireless Broadband Alliance (WBA) Enhances Operator Managed Wi-Fi Reference Architecture for Better Residential Wi-Fi User Experience. The WBA has released an updated Operator Managed Wi-Fi (OMWi) Reference Architecture, aiming to transform the residential Wi-Fi experience. This update incorporates enhanced technical and operational requirements while introducing open-source, OMWi-compliant implementations in collaboration with partners like the prpl Foundation and RDK-B. What’s New? A robust framework for deploying and managing residential Wi-Fi tailored to global operator needs. Integration of key industry standards such as: Wi-Fi EasyMesh™ and Wi-Fi CERTIFIED Data Elements™ from the Wi-Fi Alliance and TR-369 USP/TR-181 Data Models from the Broadband Forum. Together, these standards enable scalability and interoperability, allowing operators to collaborate seamlessly with equipment vendors on unified specifications.
