Yuval Harari, author of Sapiens, and Jon Kabat-Zinn, author of Wherever You Go, There You Are are two such people. Yuval meditates two hours a day, goes on long retreats, and is able to connect global issues and consciousness in ways I think few can. His book Sapiens blew me away. Jon has been on the forefront of mindfulness and medicine for over 40 years. He is somewhat the "father" of mindfulness in America.
