On this #TechTuesday, we are #ScanningSmarter 🖥️ Wise's in-house BIM/VDC team—Matthew Emond, Neil McCann, and Shubham Khatavkar (SK), CMIT—recently tested the NavVis VLX scanner on a 24,000 SF healthcare project, completing the scan in record time and saving nearly two full days (16 hours) of scanning. With support from the NV5 BIM Team, formerly myBIMteam the wearable scanner offers unmatched mobility, while advanced SLAM technology ensures precise data capture, and high-speed processing delivered accurate results almost instantly. This innovative approach not only improves efficiency but also elevates coordination efforts, exemplifying our commitment to #EvolveContinuously by embracing cutting-edge technology. "We’re excited about the possibilities tools like this can bring to future projects," says Shubham Khatavkar (SK), CMIT. #BuildingBeyond #WeAreWise #Wise40

Recently our Wise project team had the chance to support Build Health International (BHI) at our NeighborHealth project. BHI promotes global equity by developing high-quality health infrastructure to enable access to dignified and affordable healthcare to those who need it most. While wrapping up demo work on the fourth floor of 20 Maverick Square, we connected with BHI and learned they were in need of items for an upcoming build. Our team pulled together a donation of 20 file/wooden cabinets and 42 doors, which made their way to BHI’s Gloucester Warehouse. It’s our first time working with BHI, and it’s exciting to see our materials find new life supporting their mission. A big shoutout to our Wise team for making this donation happen! Wise is currently providing preconstruction services for the renovation of Boston University’s undergraduate teaching laboratories in the school's Chemistry Department 🔬 The existing seven lab spaces, totaling approximately 17,000 SF, were last renovated in the early 1980s and are in need of a complete overhaul to meet modern academic and functional requirements. These spaces support a wide range of chemistry disciplines and run multiple classes simultaneously year-round. As part of the preconstruction process, Wise’s in-house VDC team (Matthew Emond, Neil McCann, and Shubham Khatavkar (SK), CMIT) conducted detailed scans of the existing lab spaces to gather data on the current conditions of the equipment and structure. This scanning process allowed us to effectively compare design models with trade models, helping to identify and resolve potential conflicts early on. Additionally, the collected data supports the logistical planning required for the installation of large equipment, ensuring a smooth and safe execution of the renovation. #EvolveContinuously #VDC #BuildingBeyond #WeAreWise

Wise Construction, Dartmouth Health, and our project partners recently gathered to celebrate the progress of the Dartmouth Cancer Center's Radiation Oncology Expansion in Manchester, NH 🏥 👩⚕️ Dr. Pamela Hofley, Medical Director of Dartmouth-Hitchcock Manchester, emphasized the importance of bringing radiation oncology services to New Hampshire’s southern region, noting that this expansion will provide “much more coordinated care to our patients.” The shared excitement was clear. Dr. Steven Leach, Director of Dartmouth Cancer Center, remarked, “Today is all about partnership. These are the bricks and mortar that will bring people together in ways we haven’t seen before.” 👨⚕️ With over 7,000 SF of new medical space—including medical/exam rooms, a nurse station, equipment/storage rooms, a new CT, and a new linear accelerator (LINAC) vault—the expansion is set to transform cancer care access for the community. The complexity of enclosing a linear accelerator, paired with an active ambulatory setting, means our team is balancing detailed, safety-focused construction techniques with patient-centered scheduling. A big thanks to our partners: Dartmouth Health - DARTMOUTH HITCHCOCK MANCHESTER Lavallee Brensinger Architects Fuss & O'Neill Souza, True and Partners Fitzemeyer & Tocci Associates, Inc. Haley & Aldrich …and the entire Wise project team—Eric Libby, Scott Guertin, P.E., Noreen McDonnell, John Niro, Louie DiFabio, Suhani Jain, and Kelvin Erazo—whose hard work is making this vision a reality. Stay tuned as we work towards making this vital facility weathertight this November! 📸 credit: Chris Capozzi #BreakingGround #LINAC #HospitalConstruction #BuildingBeyond #WeAreWise

Lean construction is taking our teams to the top! Recently, Wise hosted a dynamic Pull Planning session, focusing on accelerating the top, 14th-floor scope of work in a building in Boston. This critical component is part of our larger project to reposition over 175,000 SF across multiple floors into laboratory and research space. Our client came to us with this request as the tenant of this floor needed to be back and operable with as little delay as possible. Pull planning served as a catalyst, aligning our team and trade partners with these pressing schedule demands. We’re tackling significant building infrastructure and mechanical system upgrades to outfit future lab and office spaces, and this collaborative approach ensures we’re all moving in sync. The timely completion of the 14th floor is mission critical: firstly, it will allow the tenant to return to work as quickly as possible, and secondly, it will support the installation of supplemental steel for new rooftop equipment and penthouse structures, as well as MEP risers extending to the roof. This Pull Planning session led the team confidently to an outcome that will foster alignment and accelerate progress as we embark on these complex renovations with our trade partners. Thank you, Tom Richert, for your expert guidance on strategic workflow planning, and shout out to Wise's project team: Andrew Dell'Olio, Ryan Simoneau, Andrew Lynch, Brenden Lydon, and Chris Schena, and to all our trade partners! #EvolveContinuously #BuildingBeyond #WeAreWise
