  • Journey Lines podcast is a thoughtful deep dive with creatives about the highs and lows, personally and professionally, that shaped them. This week host Kim Minnick sits down with Head Honcho Myles Nye who, as usual, has a lot to say! If you aren't interested in his words, we're told his tone of voice is quite pacifying and can occasionally lull babies to sleep, if he doesn't get excited about something and raise his voice which, if we're being honest, happens often. Maybe try a bottle instead. For the baby, that is. For grown-ups, listen to the podcast: https://lnkd.in/gGEZUgPd

Humans have a funny habit of finding ways to play. Sparks of joy, laughter and creativity are found even in the darkest times. Myles Nye is in the business of fun over at Wise Guys Events, and this episode is a much needed spark. Check out the Journey Lines podcast here https://lnkd.in/gGEZUgPd or where ever you pod. Keep crushin' it, y'all! ❤️

  • You win some, you lose some. Everybody who plays games knows that. Admittedly, we tend to quote this phrase more often after a loss. But guess what? ***Wise Guys Events won the Bernie DeKoven Big Fun Award*** If you're not familiar with Bernie - friends called him Blue - and his work, you are in for a real treat. Bernie was an influential game designer, scholar, and author in the 20th century (ha). He was instrumental in the design of many games and activities you know, even if you aren't otherwise familiar with this field. Ever heard of Ultimate Frisbee? The parachute game from elementary school P.E.? If you answered yes, you know Bernie's legacy. Before his death, Bernie worked in partnership with IndieCade, the International Festival of Independent Games, to create an award in his name to support and promote the longevity of his life's work: silly monkey business. And this year, IndieCade adjudicators honored Wise Guys Events by awarding unto us the Bernie DeKoven Big Fun Award. Head Honcho Myles Nye will be present in LA to accept the award, to participate in IndieCade Night Games, and to join a Creators' Retreat. If you're in downtown LA on Friday or Saturday night, stop by to say hello. And join in the fun! It's what Bernie would have done.
