About us

We Build More Than Bikes Wish for Wheels turns dreams into reality for 2nd graders in your local community through unforgettable team building experience that’ll ignite your organization’s passion, increase your ROI and help kids in underserved communities pedal into new adventures. Do you remember your first bike? That fresh rubber smell, the smooth touch of cold metal on your legs and the grip of the handlebars as you buckled your helmet and got ready to ride with the wind at your back and the pavement in front of you… Our founder, Brad Appel recognized that a bike equals freedom. Growing up it was both his stress relief and his window to the world around him. Decades later, he bought his three kids their first bikes and taught them how to ride. But he started to wonder… “How did children from low-income families get their first bikes when their parents might be struggling to pay the grocery bill?” Thus, Wish for Wheels was founded in 2004, with the mission of giving every kid in need their very own bike and helmet. They showed organizations & corporate teams the power of not just building a bike, but handing a brand new bike to a kid who’s been dreaming about one forever. Imagine creating team building events that reignite the spark of creativity and create a culture of cooperation and respect… without the boring webinars, pizza parties and potlucks. All while helping a 2nd grader’s Wish for Wheels come to life. That’s exactly what we do. Let’s get ready to ride together.

Our volunteers had a blast working with Wish for Wheels to round out #humankind month in September! Last week, we joined them in Weld County where they gave 271 brand new bicycles to second grade students across three schools! Not only did our volunteers help build the bikes, but they also helped teach the students how to ride them, and made sure their helmets properly fit. It was a great day for everyone! Thank you, Wish for Wheels, for the joy you bring to the children of Weld County! #wishforwheels #volunteer #giveback

Our Estimating and Operations leaders combined forces with Wish for Wheels to supply a 2nd grade class in our community with brand new bikes! It was an amazing teambuilding event for these departments, and our hearts exploded with joy getting to pass these out to the kiddos and teach them how to ride. We practiced communication, learned about each others' strengths, and saw just how capable we are when we all share a goal. Pretty cool huh? If your company is looking for a valuable teambuilding experience, I highly recommend Wish For Wheels! We're grateful to have found them and had this opportunity today. #buildabetterworld #webuildcolorado

  • In 2024, with the incredible support of our partners, over 9,000 bikes and helmets found their way into the hands of children across our communities. That’s more than 9,000 moments of pure joy, freedom, and possibility. For many, it’s a moment they’ll carry with them for a lifetime. To our partners: You’ve made this possible. Your commitment to giving back, fostering stronger teams, and creating meaningful change is the reason we can continue transforming lives, one bike at a time. As we pedal into 2025, we’re dreaming even bigger. Here's to serving many more children in 2025! #employeeengagement #teambuilding #corporatevolunteerism #CSR

  • Here’s the thing: when you bring your team together to give back, they’re not just helping the community, they’re contributing to the creation of a stronger company culture. Why does this matter? 👉 Teams that volunteer together collaborate better. 👉 Employees feel more connected to their work and your mission. 👉 Leadership skills (and empathy!) grow naturally in volunteer settings. And let’s not forget: companies that prioritize giving back earn loyalty and pride from their people. Planning a group volunteer experience doesn't have to be complicated. We can handle the heavy lifting so all your team has to do is show up with a smile! Learn more at www.wishforwheels.org #corporatevolunteering #companyculture #employeeengagement

  • In 2025, companies are rethinking their approach to employee engagement, leaning into initiatives like corporate volunteerism to build engaged, inspired, and connected teams. Here’s why: ✅ Companies that prioritize social impact see employees who are twice as likely to stay ✅ Volunteering together boosts team engagement, leading to higher productivity and stronger collaboration ✅ Volunteer programs develop skills, inspire employees, and create meaningful connections Corporate volunteerism is a great way to give back, but it's also a powerful strategy for creating a workplace culture that thrives on purpose and connection Read more about Why 2025 is the Year to Invest in Corporate Volunteerism and Employee Experience: https://lnkd.in/gsGBFNi4
