WITSA Launches Global AI Ecosystem Network with Founding Hub Partners with Malaysia, Bahrain, and Brazil The World Innovation, Technology and Services Alliance (WITSA) recently launched its Global AI Ecosystem Network (WITSA GAIN) with three distinguished Founding Hub Partners: Sarawak Digital Economy Corporation (SDEC) from Malaysia, Bahrain Technology Companies Society (BTECH) from Bahrain, and Assespro Rio De Janeiro from Brazil, marking a significant milestone in WITSA’s mission to foster an inclusive and innovative global AI ecosystem. The WITSA Global AI Ecosystem Network aims to foster innovation, ethical AI governance, and talent development while accelerating entrepreneurship and foreign direct investment (FDI). The network provides a platform for AI ecosystem hubs from six continents to collaborate and scale their efforts to meet global challenges in AI. The founding hub partners will serve as key AI ecosystem hubs within their respective regions—Southeast Asia, the Gulf Country Corporation (GCC), and South America. This collaborative initiative aims to advance artificial intelligence innovation, talent development, and ethical governance across borders. The key objectives of this partnership include establishing AI infrastructure, nurturing local AI entrepreneurs, and creating policy frameworks that promote the ethical use of AI. At the board meeting during the #WCIT2024 in Yerevan, Armenia I was elected to be a member of the Global Board of Directors representing the BTG – Branchevereniging voor IT en communicatietechnologie of the Netherlands. This new role allows me to directly support the promise of the Digital, Innovation & Tech industry for the sustainability and well-being of all stakeholders in the global community. The World Innovation, Technology and Services Alliance was founded in 1978 and represents 80 leading industry associations from around the globe. Just finished attending and speaking at WCIT 2024 / DigiTec conference in Yerevan Armenia. It is a beautiful country in transition. A country that is very focused on investing in citizen’s technology education, especially on AI. I spoke on two panels consisted of very distinguished global leaders. 1: Tomorrow's World: Forging an Exciting future through AI. 2: Female Leadership in AI. We discussed issues and opportunities associated with ethical AI, digital inclusion, accessibility and need for human first (vs technology first) thinking and actioning. So thankful for the opportunity provided by WITSA as we, the visiting speakers had a chance to see this beautiful country, shared knowledge, and to meet up with old and new friends. Malaysia's Pandai became the first ever WITSA World Cup Champion at the 28th WCIT 2024 which concluded today in Yerevan, Armenia. The WITSA World Cup started with a pledge by 19 countries at WCIT|IDECS 2023. Through the National Selections, 16 teams from 8 countries made it to the grand finals. Pandai's CEO Khairul Anwar made an outstanding final pitch in front of global judges to win the coveted Zohari Challenge Trophy and prizes.
