When we first featured the distinctly expressive wines of Camins2Dreams back in 2020, it was still early in the life of the winery. A labor of love from Spanish winemaker Mireia Taribo Tena and Chumash Native American winemaker Tara Gomez, the project was established to showcase the beauty of the Santa Rita Hills on California's Central Coast. In the time since, the brand has gained great momentum: Gomez has been recognized as "Winemaker of the Year" by VinePair (2021), "Winemaker of the Year" by The Hue Society (2022), and listed in Wine Enthusiast 's "Future 40" (2023). As we head into the holidays, we're proud to again share these special wines, which bear the mark of authentication from the Intertribal Agriculture Council. If you're not already signed up, hurry! Holidays are around the corner. Order--> https://lnkd.in/e2nvjRW6

Our founder Amy Bess Cook has launched a fundraiser for Southern Smoke Foundation, which has supported countless hospitality workers in the wake of natural disasters-- including in #Appalachia. While restaurants, bars, and other establishments all over the mountains close due to lack of water or outright destruction, workers go unpaid. This organization helps fill the gap, offering money for basic needs and mental healthcare, too. We're asking friends, colleagues, #winery partners, #wine industry comrades, and anyone who cares to contribute to this fund. Your donation deposits directly to SSF. For the workers who've poured for us, let us pour forth love 💙 GIVE--->https://lnkd.in/eFneepwC #hospitality #drinksbiz #winebiz #southernsmoke #climatechange #Appalachia #WNC #Asheville #Helene

Post-Helene Update from our Western North Carolina Office: Two years ago, Woman-Owned Wineries relocated our offices from Northern California to a town 20 minutes south of Asheville, North Carolina. As counterintuitive and risky as as the move may have seemed, it was an exciting one: Western North Carolina has been quietly nurturing an innovative beverage scene, including winemaking. The future looked bright. On September 25, 2024, the most devastating U.S. storm of our lifetime swept through Southern Appalachia. Its current death toll is 227 and rising, with hundreds of people missing and hundreds more trapped. We are safe, and our physical office is sound. Read the post-storm update from our founder, Amy Bess Cook. This post links to her personal account, ways to help, and her crowdsourced list of beverage producers impacted by the storm---> https://lnkd.in/eG4eGztp #appalachia #appalachianstrong #wncstrong #wnc #asheville #womeninbusiness #womeninag #winebiz #drinksbiz #climatechange #americanwine

"In an industry where representation matters, I take my role seriously—both as a winemaker and as a Mexican-American woman. I want my presence here to encourage others from underrepresented backgrounds to pursue their passions fearlessly." ~ Morét Brealynn This month, we're sharing the story of Morét-Brealynn Chavez, whose namesake new wine label is making waves in Sonoma County and beyond. After years of working in sales and marketing with such prominent brands as Silver Oak, Kosta Browne Winery, and HALL Family Wines, she has established her own label to critical acclaim. Read our exclusive interview with Morét, then sign up through our club to receive a selection of her wines ---> https://lnkd.in/eWx7vZA9 WINE WOMEN #womeninwine #sonomacountywine #sonomacounty #california #hispanicheritagemonth

What is the "why" of wine? How can winemakers better communicate that sense of purpose? What's the point of all this, anyway? 🤷♀️ 🍷 🤷♀️ 🍷 These are key questions behind last week's excellent (and rather heartbreaking) post from the great Karen MacNeil. https://lnkd.in/eecqeaXy In response, we'd like to share a message that our founder Amy Bess Cook sent to our community of 500+ female vintners back in January. It poses similar questions, and dares to offers a few answers, too. We post it here in hopes of encouraging the many other wonderful, sensitive, skilled winemakers out there to keep asking these hard questions and to continue this conversation. Is American #wine finally getting its due? We love to see it! At Woman-Owned Wineries, we've been consistently amplifying domestic wineries since our inception. Our #winery directory--the first and largest of its kind--exclusively lists female vintners across the United States. Our #wineclub has primarily featured domestic wines (with few exceptions) sharing bottles from Idaho to Vermont to Texas and back again. There are soooo many wonderful expressions of this broad and varied land; check out a few choice producers in this excellent piece from Full Pour: https://lnkd.in/ec88sdn6

Aw, we're blushing! Thanks, CNN, for recognizing our long-running #wine delivery service, and for specifically showing love to one of our fave collaborators, Kaitlin Childers of Camp Rose Cellars. Since 2018, our wine club has offered limited production, hard-to-find bottles from talented independent female vintners. Cheers! 🥂 #wineclub #winedelivery #womeninwine #womenentrepreneurs #smallbusiness #togetherwerise https://lnkd.in/eU_88NAW

Thanks to Wine Enthusiast for resurrecting this 2022 article from our founder Amy Bess Cook examining the glaring funding gap that keeps #women #wine entrepreneurs from reaching their potential. Alas, it's still relevant today. This is why Woman-Owned Wineries exists—to amplify female vintners so that they broaden their audiences and succeed! https://lnkd.in/eNHu3XCz #realtalk #womeninwine #womeninleadership #womenentrepreneurs #genderequity #womenshistorymonth #ladiesgetpaid

Meet our first featured #winemaker of 2024, French expat Eglantine Chauffour! 🇫🇷🍷 Recently named a top "Winemaker You Need to Know" by Sonoma Magazine, she is co-founder of ENA WINES, expressing the dramatic beauty of Northern California's Mendocino Ridge. This week, we're shipping her elegant, limited-production wines in our #wineclub delivery. 🍷🚚 Growing up in Provence, Eglantine hailed from a family of chemists, which provided a firm foundation for her #winemaking aspirations. With an abiding love of scent, she initially wanted to study perfume. Yet she couldn't resist the world of #wine . "You grow it, you transform it, and you drink it," Eglantine says. As a winemaker, "It's really pleasant to follow the full cycle." After earning an agronomy degree, Eglantine traveled the world, making and studying wine. Along the journey, she met Italian-born Alberto Bianchi, with whom she would later establish @enawinemakers . As a primary fruit source, ENA has chosen Mariah Vineyard , a perched at an elevation of 2600 feet in the Mendocino Ridge sub-appellation. The vineyard is dry-farmed using #regenerative and #organic methods. Fermented with wild yeast and bottled with minimal sulfur, ENA wines offer the site's ideal expression. We're proud to share these meticulously crafted wines, made with meticulous care. Cheers to quality, devotion, and collaboration! 2021 ENA Sauvignon Blanc 155 cases | 13% ABV 2020 ENA Pinot Noir 195 cases | 13% ABV 2021 ENA "Eurica" Primitivo 98 cases | 13.9% ABV
