What was on the agenda at Women in Open Banking ANZ's Auckland workshop earlier this month? Attendees were asked to engage with four thought-starter questions via an online poll and then discuss in small groups. 1. What is important for you for the CDR regime to achieve? 2. Where do we draw the line between speed and completeness? 3. Personally, how empowered do you feel to champion open banking? 4. How prepared do you feel your organisation is to meet the open banking deadline? 💟 Here are the abbreviated poll results and insights: https://lnkd.in/gJ4587mk Lan Yin Joyce Xie Brenton Charnley Vanessa Ronan-Pearce 🎶 Lisa Ibarra

💜 Thank you to everyone who helped us launch the first ever Women in Open Banking ANZ workshop in Auckland New Zealand! Here are some insights that were drawn from the group of incredible women that attended this first event: 🌟 The top priorities for the CDR are innovation, security, and consumer trust, with a resounding emphasis on consumer control and transparency 🌟 Participants backed the government’s aim for Open Banking to be fully operational by 2026, with 71% supporting a “start and iterate” approach. Moving forward quickly is key, though we agreed there’s room for further clarity. 🌟 Only 32% of attendees felt their organisations were fully prepared for the demands ahead, highlighting the urgent need for greater readiness across the industry. 🌟 Unified standards, streamlined accreditation, and collaboration across sectors were seen as critical to a secure, accessible open banking framework. There’s a shared enthusiasm to involve voices beyond finance to shape a truly inclusive CDR framework. 🙌 Thank you to Lan Yin for hosting this thought-provoking workshop, the Chapman Tripp team Charlotte Montgomerie and Manaaki Rimene-Sproat for hosting this event, Mastercard Open Banking Lisa H., Brenton Charnley Joyce Xie Ruth Riviere Elijah Edgehill Lucy Watson for your ongoing support into our events. 🔜 Full article on the insights from this workshop coming soon! What a week it’s been! Intersekt 2024 was an equal mix of insight, connection, and inspiration, making the day-long trip from Dunedin to Melbourne completely worthwhile. I had the opportunity to speak at the Women in Open Banking Roundtable, sharing PocketSmith’s experiences with open banking data since 2019, and comparing countries where open banking is legislated - like the UK, EU, and Australia - with regions where it’s not. It was a fascinating discussion that reminded me how crucial it is to build consumer confidence and trust in this space. And to wrap it all up with something personal – I’ve always tracked my own spending, and shared a personal anecdote about how I track my family’s bubble tea spend (yes, I have an annual boba budget 🧋), and how when you're the household CFO, data fidelity and accuracy is key. I'm writing this from the Auckland Airport lounge, waiting for my evening flight home, reflecting on the many interesting, clever humans I met over the course of the week. We all know the real magic happens in the conversations between the sessions, I’m already excited for Intersekt 2025! Hugest thanks to Jennifer Harrison for the invitation to speak, and FinTech Australia for running such an epic event. #Intersekt24 #OpenBanking #PFM #PersonalFinance #TrustAndTechnology #ConsumerDataRight
