Women in Product, I 💗 you, now and always! Come join me at my AMA at the Women in Product community space on Thursday. I'm there to talk about making a big change after 18 years in big tech working on productivity and developer software, to working in women's health as a CPO. After having two kids through IVF, surviving a pandemic, and turning 40, and my life was ripe for a midlife cris... I think I'm supposed to call it a "pivot." 😜 I've made my passion of supporting women's health into my new full-time job --there's a lot we can do to empower women's health through fertility, motherhood, and perimenopause. Moving from tech conferences full of developers to conferences full of OBGYNs has refreshed my creativity in new ways. Thankfully product management gives us a great toolbox to pull from in so many different places. Come join my AMA with Women in Product at the link below! https://lnkd.in/gqkjZ6He

Driving Sustainable Product Growth | Experimentation Advocate | Cultivating Happy Teams & Customers

I'd love to share my take from an AMA with Elizabeth Sartin organized by #WomenInProduct I recently participated in. What resonated the most was the reminder that *we must sell ourselves and our work*. Oh, did it strike a deep chord! Like many women, I’ve often relied on the belief that hard work and great results would naturally speak for themselves. The truth? They don’t—at least, not always. Not to those who have your future in their hands at least. Throughout my career, I’ve seen the impact of this mindset on my growth. I’ve watched counterparts build strong relationships with key decision-makers, proactively reach out to CEOs, or position themselves at the right tables. Meanwhile, I would wait for opportunities to come to me or for someone to notice the effort I was putting in. The result? I inadvertently sidelined myself, missing out on valuable opportunities for growth and visibility. What I took away from this conversation was a shift in perspective: advocating for yourself isn’t just about talking about the results of your work—it’s about creating opportunities to connect, share your vision, and be part of the conversations that shape decisions. This is still a work in progress for me. It takes courage to step out of the "head down, let the work speak" mentality. But the more I practice putting myself forward, the clearer it becomes that self-advocacy isn’t just a skill—it’s a necessity for long-term growth. To anyone else struggling with this (especially the ladies): let’s normalize being proud of our achievements, putting ourselves in the right rooms, and building relationships that matter. Growth starts when we stop waiting for a seat at the table and start asking for one.
