The AEC industries are crucial for shaping our built environment. However, they face a significant gender imbalance. Encouraging more women to join architecture, engineering, and construction is vital for fostering diversity, innovation, and creativity. By providing equal opportunities and promoting inclusive policies, we can inspire the next generation of female leaders in AEC. ACE Mentor Program of America does an incredible job preparing students for roles in the AEC Industry. #WomenInConstruction #DiversityInAEC #EqualOpportunities

It is an empowering guide for women in construction! 🎉📗🎉 We recently read the book, "Build-Her, be Heard," a journaling and reflection guide for women in construction. The author, Renae S., who is also the Founder and Executive Director at Build-her.org This is another testament to women's strength, resilience, and voices shaping the industry. Sheds light on personal stories, practical advice, and strategies to amplify women’s voices and impact in their careers. It highlights resilience, innovation, and the importance of mentorship and allyship in breaking barriers. It even has places to reflect and write your thoughts. A must-read for those passionate about fostering inclusivity and championing women in the workforce. #buildnerbeheard #author #womeninconstruction #womensupportingwomen

They are our FUTURE! #nextgen First-ever Build-A-Shed competition in Charlotte! Charlotte-Mecklenburg Schools students, GC's, and specialty trade contractors constructed a 6’ x 8’-6” playhouse in seven hours. Christi and Angela loved seeing two females highlighted in this video: Nylah and Cielo. Sara Breeggemann said it perfectly: "Women see construction as a viable industry." The competition, held at Fessler & Bowman, introduced students to construction careers through real-world learning, emphasizing safety, planning, and teamwork. Teams from Independence High School (with Swinerton and Doggett Concrete, Inc.), Palisades High School (with Messer Construction Co. and Charlotte Mechanical), and The ROC competed fiercely, with The ROC taking home the win. Big thanks to ABC Carolinas Chapter. This incredible workforce development opportunity brought Thank you to all who supported these future builders as they explored hands-on experiences and built toward bright careers in construction! Subscribe to CMS Bond Info Special shout-out to Jonna Turner for sharing this video with us. #buildashed #skilledtradecompetition #handson #womeninconstruction #highschoolstudents

Skilled trades students need to see and interact with us! Christi and Angela are passionate about supporting all generations, especially female students interested in the skilled trades. 🏗️ It’s vital for women in construction to connect with school-age girls to inspire and expand their understanding of career possibilities. 🏗️ Early exposure helps dismantle stereotypes, showing young women that construction offers rewarding and diverse career paths—from electrical ~ welding ~ carpentry ~ crane rigger ~ heavy equipment operator ~ engineering ~ project management, and so much more. 🏗️ These interactions can spark interest in STEM subjects, building a foundation for a more inclusive workforce in the future. 🏗️ Connecting with young girls also cultivates role models they can relate to, encouraging them to pursue careers in a traditionally male-populated field. Each female student received a T-shirt and sticker (for their future hardhat) from Bring Back the Trades, Inc. (We gave the boys some items, too.) Craig Berkowitz is a great teacher who cares about all his students succeeding and having opportunities. We need more Mr. B's! The three Students 🚀 Azaria 👷🏻♀️ I wanted to learn about HVAC because it is something new to learn. Also, because of the money. It is hands-on, and not many women are in this field. Mr. B is a good teacher who does all he can to help us grow our knowledge in skilled trades. Brianna 👷🏻♀️ I wanted to do HVAC because my dad is in HVAC. I wanted to see what it is like. I am very hands-on and like using my hands. Paloma 👷🏻♀️ I wanted to learn about HVAC. I wanted to learn more about electricity to work in that field someday. I wanted to experience several skilled trades. I like being hands-on and learning new things. Mr. B is a great teacher who helps us learn and understand what we are learning. Thank you, Michelle Michaels, Loralea Wright, Mr. B, and Golden Strip Career and Technology Center, for letting us hang out with the students. #girlpower #makeadifference #supportingnextgen #skilledtrades
