The Work Revolution

The Work Revolution

Civic and Social Organizations

Work is the organizing story of our lives, but the way the world works serves almost no one. We're here to change that.

About us

The Work Revolution is a movement + advocacy group that promotes human and meaningful work for everyone. In other words, we are the pioneers designing radically life-giving places to work. We believe in work, and we believe our work matters. We believe humans love to work, when we get to do something meaningful. We believe everyone deserves to love their work (yes, we do mean everyone). We believe conversations about how we CAN do things are infinitely more powerful than why we CAN'T. We believe profit is fine—necessary, even—but it is not the point of business. We believe business exists to create something valuable for the world. Join us.

  • Should billionaires exist?! If you're not immediately clear on your answer to this question, don't miss this episode... As you probably know, right now business exists primarily to "increase shareholder returns"... but SHOULD it?? In our favorite episode from Season 1, Josh takes 5 minutes to completely dismantle the current, corrupted organizing story of business with a powerful metaphor we still can't stop thinking about. Don't miss this incendiary episode! #workrevolution #billionaires #hoarding #oxygen https://lnkd.in/gGVfGKzz

  • Before Season 2 begins, let's catch up with a few more favorites from S1... 🎙️ Today we're featuring Episode 20! At your work, have you ever heard... >>> “We need more accountability.” Or leaders who say things like... >>> “I don’t WANT to ‘manage’ people, but I feel like I HAVE to.” Or maybe you've said one of these things yourself? In this episode, Josh explains a big misunderstanding about what "accountability" means — and why "accountability" is actually the exact WRONG thing to focus on IF we want a work culture of accountable adults! #workrevolution #accountability #culture https://lnkd.in/gs35j9-f

  • Before Season 2 begins, let's catch up with a few favorites from S1... 🎙️ Today we're featuring Episode 19! // Despite literal decades of consultants and coaches, seemingly endless new recognition and engagement software platforms, and multi-billions of dollars rushing into the HRTech space, employee engagement levels are... Roughly the same as they've always been. Do you know WHY this is the case? Take 4 minutes and listen to this episode, where Josh provides a simple and compelling answer! https://lnkd.in/giuKuDri

  • It's been awhile, but we're back! The Work Revolution has always existed to bring something new to the conversation. Sometimes we take a hiatus to regroup, but then reemerge when we feel there's something new and important to contribute — and that time is NOW. We're back, and we're relaunching The Work Revolution podcast with new hosts! The new season of The Work Revolution podcast will be launching next month — March 2024 — and you'll be able to get it wherever you consume your podcasts. In the meantime, we'd love to hear from you!   + What work-related topics have you noticed over the last few years that aren't being talked about enough? + Do you have a personal story about work that's worth sharing? + Are you seeing any examples of things that are working really WELL (or obscenely badly)? Post a comment below and maybe we can chat about it on the podcast! // Full announcement: https://lnkd.in/giRzDXy4
