  • To truly shift power in funding and development, we must listen to women — especially those in communities who are already doing the work and can speak best to what they need. That’s why we're thrilled to announce the release of the #ShiftThePower Report — a collection of insights and recommendations shared by the World Pulse global community on the topic of power shifting. Developed as part of an ongoing collaboration between World Pulse's Research and Evaluation Group and the Co-Design Collaborative at the University of Arizona, the report highlights: - How women across the globe define power and the need for power shifting - Ways women are acting despite barriers and mobilizing collective power - Barriers women face to funding their changemaking efforts - Insights from groups at the margins with no or lower levels of digital access - Clear action steps funders and others must take to shift power Download the report here: https://bit.ly/3VzBubu

  • As we reflect on 20 years of World Pulse, we’re celebrating changemakers like Sister Zeph, who transformed a courtyard classroom into a movement that has educated thousands of girls in Pakistan. In 2011, sister zeph faced ridicule and even death threats as she taught 120 students in the courtyard of her home in Punjab, Pakistan. She says the hopeful eyes of her students kept her going amid 20-hour days with no financial or emotional support. Then, an online friend from Norway introduced her to World Pulse. “World Pulse became my sanctuary where I found solidarity and strength amidst adversity,” she says. “It was a beacon of hope that inspired me to continue fighting for change despite the overwhelming odds stacked against me.” With the World Pulse sisterhood at her back, she has since educated more than 6,000 girls in a country where more than 50% of women are illiterate. In 2023, Sister Zeph received global recognition for her work, winning the $1 million Global Teacher Prize from the Varkey Foundation, UNESCO, and Dubai Cares. You can learn more about Sister Zeph’s journey with World Pulse — and others like her — in “Unsilenceable: The Story of World Pulse”, a digital keepsake chronicling two decades of collective impact. • What an unforgettable World Pulse 20th Anniversary Townhall! On 18 October, we gathered to celebrate World Pulse’s 20th anniversary in a virtual townhall. The milestone event allowed us to reflect on our vibrant community and collective impact over the past two decades. A big thank you to all who participated from around the globe! Our founder, Jensine Larsen, delivered a powerful opening that reminded us of our roots, accomplishments, and lessons we've learned along the way. Then our new CEO, Lourdes Rivas, presented an inspiring vision for the future, saying, “Technology is just a paintbrush; we are the artists.” The Voices of Change roundtable featured remarkable women who have shaped World Pulse, leaving us in awe of their accomplishments. Following a meaningful leadership transition ritual, we shared exciting plans for the future and discussed how we can amplify our impact together. In a time of global disruption, we celebrated our community, resilience, and the radical power of our voices. If you missed the celebration, we invite you to watch the recording and explore how you can continue to shape an unsilenceable future for women and girls. Head to the World Pulse newsroom to watch the recording! https://bit.ly/4fiTVZt “I was so happy to see everyone, I was so hooked on my screen, listening to those beautiful testimonies, hard work, breakthroughs, I learned a lot from all the history. . . .personally I can now recite the history of world pulse as a poem. We thank the digital world. World Pulse has connected women from all over the world to motivate them, to support their voiceless ideas, to help them get the help they need.” -Margizuu, Kenya #WorldPulse #VoicesOfChange #Impact #CommunitySupport
