    VP of Engineering at Wunup

Incredibly excited to announce that I’m officially back in the startup game. I’m joining Wunup as the VP of Engineering. I started working with Blake Richards and Wunup in early July, contracting through my agency. Since then, we’ve decided to formally join forces and make this dream a reality. Blake has made a lot of progress without a technical co-founder, but we are ready to ramp it up. Rapid iteration and execution is the MO from here on out. What’s the best way to join a company? Fly out to Mexico to meet the founder for the first time (in person) and arrange to meet up with a mentor to tear the product down. Thanks to Michael Panzarella, a friend and mentor, for having us out there and giving us his free time and experience. We gathered some really great insights and have a clear path for our product. I’m so excited to be back in the startup environment. Hours are blurred and multiple hats are worn by everyone involved. Stakes are high and so are the expectations. I’m excited to write about this journey in a blog post at some point, but there’s no time for that now. Many exciting things to come in the future. Please reach out for any and all feedback, partnership opportunities, or general inquiries: colton.lowry@wunup.app

Congratulations to the six new, fast-growing startup companies from across the Great Plains/Midwest region who have been selected out of 204 applicants to each receive a $100,000 investment and participate in the NMotion powered by gener8tor Accelerator program held in Nebraska. The NMotion Accelerator Spring 2024 cohort includes: DivorceTech (Omaha, NE) - streamlines the data collection process for attorneys using artificial intelligence to greatly reduce the time needed to produce divorce case documents Storytailor (Techstars '23) (Overland Park, KS) - enables anyone, regardless of their background, to easily and quickly create personalized children's stories in their preferred language Talknician (Minneapolis, MN) - changes the way that knowledge transfer happens within the blue collar workforce Tour Golf League (Omaha, NE) - provides golf course owners with premium night golf course lighting equipment and night golf supplies Trunkdrop (Minneapolis, MN) - brokers transactions between users and drivers through a free-market on-demand delivery platform Wunup (Fargo, ND) - motivates Gen Z to workout through social accountability, real time data tracking, and financial incentives as a reward “After spending the past few months assembling this cohort, I’m excited to get to work with these six incredible companies on their growth,” said Nate Clark, NMotion Managing Director, “This program not only supports these six companies, it also empowers these founders to engage with the entrepreneurial community of Omaha and Lincoln. I can’t wait to see the personal and company growth they’ll achieve during their time working alongside each other here in Nebraska.” At the end of the program, the startup founders will pitch their companies to investors, community partners, and the public at the NMotion Showcase event on May 21, 2024 in Omaha at Millwork Commons. This will come on the heels of conducting virtual pitches to 50 investors from across the region and country. “Thanks to the belief of our Nebraska investors and stakeholders, NMotion is in its second decade of making a unique impact in the broader region,” said Scott Henderson, NMotion Managing Principal and General Partner of gener8tor Great Plains Fund I, “We are now the only investment accelerator operating in Nebraska, Iowa, Kansas, Missouri, South Dakota, and Minnesota that serves early stage companies regardless of industry. We're playing our part to drive more innovation and economic growth in middle America.” The startups will take part in the intensive 12-week, cohort-based accelerator program, which includes 1:1 coaching, mentorship-driven programming, more than $1 million in deals and perks, and more than 100 connections to the gener8tor network of mentors and investors.
