Buttermilk mountain in Aspen has had a busy 2 weeks! Right after #XGamesAspen took over the mountain, our U.S. Ski & Snowboard Team partners came in to put on the Toyota U.S. Grand Prix! Over the weekend, we saw freeski and snowboard athletes compete in halfpipe and slopestyle contests and even saw some similar names across both podiums, including Chloe Kim, Alex Hall and more! At #XGamesAspen 2025, we got the opportunity to spend some time with Kevin Schreiber and his idol, Zeb Powell, for a few laps. Kevin was diagnosed with sickle cell disease and has been following X Games for years. So with help from Make-A-Wish America, we got him out to Aspen. In a note from his parents, they told us all about Kevin’s love for snowboarding, but how he was unable participate in the sport he loved. “I think for Kevin, the X Games really represents his ability to do something he loves...” In a fast paced weekend filled with the highest level of action sports the world can offer, sometimes you have to slow down to appreciate the small moments. That’s not to say the A.I. won’t make mistakes, too, especially in this early form, but our goal is to give this tool to judges, so that they can use it in their booth.” - Jeremy Bloom, X Games This year at #XGamesAspen 2025, we are introducing an A.I. judge during the snowboard SuperPipe competitions. Video cameras will watch the action for all athletes and artificial intelligence will provide a score for each run.
