We’re thrilled to be featured in Valo Ventures’s recent blog post which highlights how startups like XGS are developing and deploying innovative technologies to meet the growing electricity needs of data centers powering the AI revolution. Valo’s investment in XGS supports our mission to bring our proprietary, closed-loop system to market. Valo’s Subodh Gupta and Jukka Lahtinen note that our geothermal system – with an “attractive time-to-power (12-18 months)” paired with “highly attractive unit economics, simplicity and scalability” – offers a compelling value proposition for large tech and energy companies. At XGS, we’re not just powering AI – we’re helping to realize a fully sustainable, resilient electric grid. Dive into the blog to learn more about the future of sustainable technology and how XGS is driving progress. #Geothermal #CleanEnergy #EnergyTransition #Innovation

2025 is off to an active start! Last week, XGS Energy’s Chief Technology Officer Axel-Pierre Bois joined a panel of industry experts at Geothermal Rising’s Sustainable Loops: A Closed-Loop Forum, for a dynamic discussion aimed at fostering collaboration to advance closed-loop geothermal energy technologies. Our closed-loop solution has been developed to unlock geothermal’s full potential, everywhere, independent of water or geology constraints. We are proud to be able to showcase our system alongside other cutting-edge technologies that are playing an integral role in the future of geothermal. Thanks to Geothermal Rising for convening this specialized group of experts, and to NOV and Vallourec for hosting us at the Springett Technology Center in Navasota, Texas, while also sharing details on their groundbreaking drilling rig system. Stay tuned for where you can find XGS in the coming weeks! #Geothermal #CleanEnergy #EnergyTransition #Innovation #Texas

Our Chief Technology Officer Axel-Pierre Bois talked to Houston's EnergyCapitalHTX about how XGS Energy is addressing the biggest challenges facing geothermal energy: How can resources be reliably found? And how can projects reliably produce electricity? Our next-generation closed-loop geothermal system addresses both challenges head-on by decoupling geothermal energy from its traditional dependence on water and geology to deliver affordable, clean energy anywhere there is hot rock. Thank you EnergyCapital and InnovationMap for the opportunity to highlight XGS, including our expanding footprint in #Houston and our plans for the year ahead. 2024 was a year of consistent growth for geothermal power, with 35 countries now generating electricity from geothermal resources, underscoring the technology’s global reach. ThinkGeoEnergy points to breakthroughs in geothermal technology – such as closed-loop systems like XGS’s – as key to improving efficiency, enhancing scalability, and expanding the geographic reach of geothermal energy. Innovation is driving optimism across the energy sector and reshaping the geothermal landscape. At XGS Energy, our closed-loop system is derisking geothermal development – reducing exploration risks and eliminating sources of unplanned costs. As the U.S. continues to scale next-generation geothermal technologies, we are excited to showcase our innovative solution in the year ahead! #Geothermal #CleanEnergy #EnergyTransition #Innovation

As tech startups look for options to help power their AI datacenters, geothermal is emerging as a go-to resource to provide clean, firm electricity – with innovation coming from the energy capital of the world: Texas. With a skilled workforce and streamlined regulatory process, Texas is becoming a true hot-spot for geothermal innovation. According to Reuters News Agency, ten of the 22 geothermal startups launched between 2016 and 2022 are based in Texas. XGS Energy is proud to be a part of this thriving energy ecosystem. We opened our office in #Houston’s Memorial City last year, which is home to some of the best subsurface engineers and operational talent in the energy sector. #Geothermal #CleanEnergy #EnergyTransition #Innovation #Texas

“If next-gen tech can tap these hotter, deeper resources, and do so cost-effectively, the geothermal sector could generate around 4,000 petawatt-hours of electricity per year — enough to meet the world’s power demand 140 times over,” the International Energy Agency (IEA) asserted in a recent report. Geothermal also has the highest clean energy potential, after solar, while also delivering firm, clean power to the grid. That’s a win-win! XGS Energy has developed a solution to unlock geothermal’s full potential, everywhere, independent of water or geology constraints. We are focused on derisking geothermal development through our closed-loop system by reducing exploration risks and eliminating sources of unplanned costs. Stay tuned for more updates from XGS throughout 2025. #Geothermal #CleanEnergy #EnergyTransition #Innovation Read more geothermal's potential in Canary Media Inc. International Energy Agency (IEA)’s new report, The Future of Geothermal Energy, underscores geothermal’s massive untapped potential for clean power, with IEA predicting that geothermal could meet up to 15%, or 800 GW, of global electricity demand growth over the next 25 years. At XGS Energy, we’re taking bold steps to realize this potential with our closed loop system. As the IEA report highlights, these systems can be deployed virtually anywhere, offer high output predictability, require low water use, and avoid reservoir stimulation—reducing overall development risks. IEA calls for geothermal to be moved up the energy policy agenda, to help derisk early-stage project development and to streamline permitting processes to accelerate deployment. You can read all the findings and recommendations of the report here: https://lnkd.in/gF-dhM8x #Geothermal #CleanEnergy #EnergyTransition #Innovation

Next-generation geothermal energy technologies will play an important role in achieving a 100 percent clean energy grid that is cost-effective and reliable. To unlock its full potential, the World Resources Institute outlined actionable recommendations for state and federal policymakers to foster the responsible development and commercialization of next-gen geothermal energy in its recent Issue Brief. XGS’s Lucy Darago, Ph.D. participated in a WRI roundtable earlier this year to help inform the generation of this report. Thanks to Katrina McLaughlin, Joel Jaeger, Joseph Womble, Lori Bird and Karl Hausker for leading this effort. #geothermal #geothermalenergy #cleanenergy
