The Yeleen Beauty Makerspace is a co-manufacturing facility and tech hub built to lower the barriers to market entry for plant-based BIPOC beauty entrepreneurs. The Top 100 MBE Awards®, established in 2007, recognizes minority-owned businesses in Maryland, Virginia, and the District of Columbia that demonstrate exceptional entrepreneurial accomplishments, professionalism, and substantial contributions to their communities. Small businesses are the backbone of the U.S. economy, yet many local companies do not have the resources they need to survive – and thrive. I was proud to join the pilot cohort for the Small Business Corps Georgetown University McDonough School of Business to work with a local organization, Yeleen Beauty , to address complex problems facing their organization and help them achieve long-term stability and success in the local economy.  There are tons of projects and ways to help in the DMV area.
