Mission: To be a gathering space for creative expression that fosters meaningful connection for all. Vision: To be a catalyst of creative exploration, expression and innovation that empowers artists, inspires community and drives lasting social change. Our values • Belonging: We believe the arts are for everyone. • Inclusive Collaboration: We are stronger together. • Optimism: Art has the power to inspire change. • Curiosity: We believe that learning is at the center of all artistic expression.

Stolen paintings, mysterious etchings, and the story of a family of artists. This fall, YBCA invites you to discover the work of Nicky Nodjoumi and Nahid Hagigat. Across Nodjoumi’s satirical paintings of political power and Hagigat’s etchings about women and the struggle for freedom, you’ll explore the practices of two of the most influential Iranian-American artists working today. YBCA will also host monthly screenings of the HBO documentary “A Revolution on Canvas,” produced by their daughter Sara Nodjoumi and her partner Till Schauder. The film examines the international controversy of 120 missing artworks in Iran, which irreversibly changed this family’s life forever. Join us to uncover the journey that influenced the lives and bold work of these artists → https://bit.ly/3XcqGQD Images include: Nicky Nodjumi’s “Let’s Talk” (2020) and “Approaching Masked Carnival” (2022) and Nahid Hagigat’s “Kurdish Woman in Yellow” (2015) and “Three Women with Green Leaves” (2019).
