  • At this morning's Gratitude Breakfast, we celebrated the people who help bring our Y's mission to life every day. Volunteers, corporate partners, donors, board members, and long-time members of our Y (25+ years!) gathered together at the Park Street Y. As our CEO Buddy Evans said, "Because of our supporters, we are able to provide programs that ensure that no one is left behind – whether its offering a safe place for children to learn and grow, providing support for families in need, helping individuals to lead healthier lives, teaching a child the life-saving skill of swim, or providing socialization for seniors." Many thanks to our sponsor Hackensack Meridian Mountainside Medical Center and to all those in attendance for helping to build a strong, inclusive community FOR ALL here at our Y.

  • It was a busy weekend at the YMCA of Montclair. Our dedicated Board of Directors and executive staff leadership had an inspiring Annual Board Retreat on Saturday, November 16. The first half of the day our strategic objectives for 2025 were set. The second half of the day we were privileged to share space with renowned non-profit leadership author Joan Garry and our friends from the Greater Somerset County YMCA for a session around deepening our Culture of Philanthropy. Impactful times are ahead as we continue to serve our community! The Y. For a Better Us.

  • Yesterday, November 7, the YMCA of Montclair hosted a Veterans Day event at the Wally Choice Community Center. The event was held to express gratitude for the attendees' service and sacrifice and offer an opportunity to be in community with others of shared experience. The YMCA of Montclair thanks the wonderful community partners who came to share such valuable resources for those who served — American Red Cross, Crawford Crews Post 251, Essex County Veterans Advisory Board, Mental Health Association, Montclair NAACP Veterans Affairs Committee, Montclair Neighborhood Development Corporation, Military and Veteran Affairs Liaison for Congresswoman Mikie Sherrill, and Soldier On. Thank you to Mayor Dr. Renee Baskerville and Assemblywoman Alixon Collazos-Gill for attending and sharing a message of service and gratitude. The YMCA of Montclair also thanks the sponsors who helped make this important evening possible: Mental Health Association, Milner, Izumi Hara & David Koschik, Braven Health, Partners for Health Foundation.
