Our Beacons Middle After School program is off and running at Woodrow Wilson, James Madison, and Lucy Addison, in partnership with Roanoke City Public Schools. The YMCA Express at Gainsboro is blessed to have a dedicated, passionate, and hard-working Board Chair! Helen Ferguson has been part of the Gainsboro family for many years. She has served on the board since 2018 and has been the Chair for 5 years. Helen has taken full ownership of her role, leading our board and branch through the COVID pandemic, numerous Annual Campaigns, (including events such as fish frys, and popcorn fundraisers), and the securing of many donors and partners. Helen also is a member of the YMCA of Virginia's Blue Ridge Corporate Board, serving on the Executive Committee. We consider Helen the quintessential Gainsboro Board Member who has deep connections and strong relationships with this community. Thank you, Helen, for all you have given to our branch.
