Guiding kids to bright futures!
About us
Youth Guidance creates and implements school-based programs that enable children to overcome obstacles, focus on their education and, ultimately, to succeed in school and in life. We believe that success is realized as students stay on track to graduate elementary and high school, develop the skills and abilities needed to make positive choices in their lives, and develop resilience assets such as self-efficacy, anger management, and positive values so that they may live successful, self-sufficient lives as adults. Our specific and strategically developed delivery areas are: Counseling & Prevention (BAM, WOW, STRIVE) Community & After-School (Parent & Family Engagement, Full-Service Community Schools, Community Learning Centers and Extended Day & Enrichment Programs), and Career Readiness & Success. Youth Guidance directly serves more than 15,000 youth while touching the lives of many parents, teachers and community members. More than 95% of youth served are African American and Hispanic/Latino. Youth Guidance is accredited by the Council on Accreditation (COA). To learn more, please visit our website at www.youth-guidance.org.

In partnership with The Executives' Club of Chicago, Fifth Third convened top leaders to share how they’re shaping the future of the city’s workforce. As automation, AI and ChatGPT reshape industries, the importance of upskilling, reskilling and creating inclusive pathways to employment is more critical than ever. The workforce development summit included dynamic conversations with nonprofit and business executives from the Chicago Fed, Charter Next Generation, Just Act Partners, Origami Works Foundation, Youth Guidance and the YWCA Metropolitan Chicago. Together, they highlighted innovative strategies for building a resilient workforce, bridging skill gaps, investing in communities, and developing future-ready talent pipelines. Discover how these innovators are empowering the workforce with the skills and resources needed for long-term success. #FifthThirdChicago #ExecClubChicago #WorkforceDevelopment

Celebrating an unexpected reunion after 14 years! How wonderful to see you and hug you, Johnathon Briggs, MPH. You were one of my best hires at the AIDS Foundation of Chicago some 15 years ago (though David Ernesto Munar should get the credit!) Fast forward to today and to Youth Guidance, where you work alongside my dear friend and extraordinary leader, Michelle Morrison. Thank goodness for all the good things about social media, as it has allowed me to follow your professional and personal journey all these years with awe and admiration. And here’s to more time together in real life! Love love love the village we call Chicago. #UnexpectedEncounters #PowerOfSocialMedia

Adrian Colbert from The Chicago Bears joined our WOW (Working on Womanhood) girls for an amazing and insightful circle! 🏈💜 Adrian truly met the students where they were and got extremely vulnerable with them. His openness about his two-year sobriety journey was incredibly inspiring! He shared how mindfulness and self-care have become key parts of his routine. 💜💚 The highlight? Adrian led a powerful guided meditation with our WOW girls, leaving everyone feeling centered, empowered, and connected. ✨ Students and staff alike called it the best BEARS CARE visit they've ever experienced, and we couldn't agree more! A huge thank you to BEARS CARE for making this unforgettable experience possible. We are beyond grateful for our partnership! #WOW #BearsCare #Mindfulness #Empowerment #Grateful #YG100 #YouthGuidance #HealingCommunities

The proof is in the results! WOW's methods are simple but effective! By creating safe spaces in schools, aka circles or group therapy, our girls are redefining their lives, healing, and unpacking their trauma with their peers and WOW counselors with weekly group sessions in middle and high schools guided by our WOW curriculum. This powerful approach doesn’t just create a supportive environment—it drives measurable change. The impact is real! #WorkingonWomanhood #Healing #Safespaces #YG100
