World AIDS Day 2024🌎🦠 Theme: Take the Rights Path🩸🎗️ Today, we join the world in reflecting on the fight against HIV/AIDS. Despite progress, Africa still bears 65% of the global HIV burden, and in Zambia, 1.3 million people live with HIV, with young people (15-24) accounting for a significant portion of new infections. As Youth On Sustainable Development, we believe young people have the power to lead the fight: 
💉 Educate: Spread awareness about prevention, testing, and treatment. 
📢 Advocate: Stand up for human rights and accessible healthcare.
💪🏾 Challenge stigma: Create safe spaces for open dialogue. 📱 Engage: Use media and innovation to amplify the message. The path to an AIDS-free generation is rooted in protecting rights and prioritizing health. Making Historyyyyyy!!!💫👷🏾♀️🥳🇿🇲🇿🇲 Yesterday, November 20th, 2024, was a historic day as the Zambian Parliament passed a bill to #monetize #socialmedia in Zambia. Let’s just pause and appreciate how big this is!😮💨👏🏾 For us content creators and young people navigating through a high unemployment rate, this is the lifeline we’ve been waiting for. Social media is more than just a space to post pictures or videos—it's a whole industry that’s been untapped in Zambia for way too long. This new bill means creators like me (and YOU!) can now earn from our creativity, whether it’s through ads, brand partnerships, or even content subscriptions. Imagine the ripple effects this will have—not only will it put money directly into the pockets of young people, but it’ll also contribute to our GDP!🤯💰 For a country like Zambia, with a youth population hungry for opportunities, this move screams #SustainableDevelopment‼️ This aligns perfectly with #SDG8 – Decent Work and Economic Growth. By giving us a way to make social media profitable, the government is investing in innovation, creativity, and financial independence for the youth. This is more than just a win for creators—it's a win for Zambia’s economy. It’s proof that when young people are empowered and supported, we don’t just survive, we #THRIVE.
