Michael Spencer is one of the most persistent and high throughput people I know and I'm excited to share our investment in his company, Zeno - transforming electric two wheel transportation globally, starting with Kenya and India.
The global commuter motorcycle market is massive, with 600M+ vehicles on the road and projections of 1.5B by 2040—largely driven by emerging economies. Despite a preference for electric bikes, regions like India and East Africa still rely on petrol bikes. At MCJ, we understand that without electric options matching the upfront cost, performance, and practicality of petrol-powered bikes, transitioning is difficult, if not impossible, for those who rely on them for their livelihoods. Enter Zeno: Michael Spencer and his team are developing a 100-200cc equivalent electric motorcycle. The company uses a battery-as-a-service subscription model, allowing customers to purchase the motorcycle upfront and subscribe to access both the battery and Zeno's charging network.
