🤔 Every year I question whether ADIPEC Exhibition and Conference is the place for Zero Emissions Ship Technology Association (ZESTAs) to be. Every year I decide, yes, we are the #disruptors, and what better place to #disrupt than at the heart of O&G? ✊
🌊 Members Artemis Technologies Ltd booth in the Maritime Hall starts the trend! 🌊
🏃♀️ Hit the ground running with an interview on #Azerbaijan TV about the Port of Baku. Focus? Being a green port. Advice? Invest in #RE and #electrifyeverything! Baku is a significant hub on the #SilkRoad and can continue to be if they can supply #sustainable transport.
⚓ Next stop on my ADIPEC tour-de-force? #Maritime and #Logistics Conference panel on #Decarbonisation with Capt. Rado Antolovic PhD, Gina Panayiotou LLB, LLM, CBA, MBA, Mark O’Neil and Robert Desai, moderated by Alan Gelder.
One panellist stated that president Trump meant all bets off for climate change regulation. I assured him this would not be the case at the International Maritime Organization(#IMO), where one country has one voice. “Mr. Trump is no match for Arsenio Dominguez! ”. Gina P. supported with "this is because Secretary-General Dominguez listens and has been for years, especially in his capacity as Chair of #MEPC". My biggest takeaway was the astonishing accomplishments of the Drydocks World, led by visionary Rado Antolovic, in reducing dependency on fossil fuels by investing in renewable energy production. His “just do it” attitude is exactly what we need from industry leaders! 💪 💪 💪
I had many meetings with significant actors, updating and reconnecting, but would especially like to thank ADNOC L&S VP, Abdul Bari AlZubaidi, for taking time to catch up on #ZESTAs activities since we met last year.
I was honoured to join fellow leaders at the MEEC high level round table on Cross-sector Partnerships: Driving Transformation Across Industries, where I had the good fortune to be seated by Walter Link CEO/Founder, NoW Partners with whom I'll follow up at COP29
My ADIPEC finished on a high note joining Maha F. Attia, AVC for Foreign Trade, EGAS, Huda Al Houqani, Director, ADSG and Michel Abi Saab General Manager, Emerge, for a panel discussion on “The strategic role of NGOs in unlocking energy investment for emerging economies” moderated expertly by Gaurav Sharma, Energy Market Analyst & Forbes, Senior Contributor. My key take away is the energy transition is bubbling up unseen across the globe at a grassroots level. #NGO intervention can bring these projects to a point that will attract traditional and institutional financing.
🎉 There was also some fun, the highlight being the Sea Horizon Offshore Marine Services WLL party with Nawaz Haq and John Butler CEng FIMarEST of #ZESTAs members Global Maritime. Thanks Danial Kaabi for the invite!
Conclusion? #ZESTAs needs to be here to promote our #absolutezero emissions fuels and technologies! Let’s pull together and get a joint booth for the whole crew!
