Updates

  • How has Zulu surpassed the legacy systems' capabilities so quickly? Answer: modern software. Modern software development heavily relies on automation and streamlined processes to accelerate the delivery of new features and updates. Zulu provides fully-tested upgrades (i.e. no UAT!!!) to all of its customers' every 4 to 6 weeks with capabilities that would take legacy vendors a year or more. This allows for continuous integration and continuous delivery, known as CI/CD. With continuous integration, developers frequently merge their code changes into a central repository, triggering automated builds and tests to quickly identify and address integration issues. Continuous delivery automates the release process, ensuring that software can be deployed to production environments quickly and reliably on a regular basis. Modern architectural practices often incorporate third-party libraries to accelerate development. By leveraging pre-built solutions for common tasks, developers can focus on the unique aspects of their project. Well-maintained libraries typically undergo rigorous testing and adhere to industry best practices, enhancing the overall quality and reliability of the final product. Furthermore, third-party libraries facilitate rapid prototyping and experimentation, enabling developers to quickly explore different approaches and accelerate the development process. In today’s highly competitive airline market, it is important to have a schedule and planning system that can keep up. This requires agility and the enablement of cutting edge functionality. System architecture can be an obstacle if the system is based on old, outdated technology. Zulu is based on leading, cloud-based technology that enables frequent releases with new capabilities not possible with outdated systems. Combined with Agile development processes, Zulu is a flexible platform that is able to quickly adapt to customer needs.  Over the next few weeks, we will post some of our advantages. This week we have covered rapid development and deployment. #airlinescheduling #networkplanning #slots #airlinesystems #airlinetechnology

  • Zulu will be attending the 155th IATA Slot Conference next week in Singapore. We are excited to engage with our customers and those airlines looking to modernize their technology and make a step-change in capabilities. In the photo below, the Merlion is a reminder of Singapore's start as a fishing village while the office towers in the background show how Singapore is now a modern, thriving, 21st century city. Like Singapore, Zulu remembers the contribution of old, legacy airline technology but sees the need for airlines to now take advantage of modern, agile, 21st century technology. #SlotConference #AirlineScheduling #Slots #NetworkPlanning

  • How can airlines build better schedules faster? Zulu delivers automation, intelligence and, especially, user experience. To further improve user experience, one of Zulu's latest features is drag-retime. Drag-retime enables users to more quickly update flight times--one of the most common edits when building and updating schedules. #airlinescheduling #schedulingsystems #networkplanning
