The importance of people! The year 2024 for me proved to be a great year. Many highs and a few devastating lows. It has been people that helped me through the whole year. Pablo M. I’ll like to deeply appreciate your positive contributions. I worked with Pablo a lot this year. He influenced the creation of “The Epoch” a biweekly news letter on AI in Africa which has now grown to about 1500 subscribers. He thought me a personal lesson in business negotiations which is now greatly influncing how I negotiate whatever deal I’m making. We also started building an edtech product together, Data Rango although he had to back out for certain barriers caused by our local system in Nigeria. He highly recommended me for a role, and supported me so much, providing me guide to learning resources, etc. To me, it was a father-son kind of relationship, and I revere him for this. Segun Adelowo has been that one person I run to when “kasala burst” ( a Nigerian pidgin slang for trouble). I have been confused a lot this year 😂needing clarity on certain things. What I like most about how he has helped is; Mr Segun will never tell you exactly what to do rather, he helps you access the situation properly, refers you to helpful guides and by the end of the conversation, I have a clearer understanding and can make better decisions. The truth is there are certain things you only learn with age and experience, books will not teach you, podcasts wouldn’t either. I can easily say Segun Adelowo has been one of the most influential persons in my career. Mojeed Abisiga my co-founder of Data Rango first I’ll like to congratulate you on obtaining the Extra ordinary talent visa aka Einstein visa. This guy is actually extra ordinary. Very energetic and ambitious guy. Presently organizing a global conference on AI and data with amazing book authors, you can get your ticket here. https://lnkd.in/dxmtAwgB Amy Nwoke my new friend, a kind hearted and enthusiastic amazing person. Jyotishko Biswas and his amazing contribution to Zummit Africa My year in review has mentioned many things, but it failed to mention the people that were solidly behind me leading me thus far. There are many other people but I can’t possibly post all of them. I’ve also decided not to mention my lows, I guess it’s a post for another day. In all you do, connect with the right people, you’ll need them as you go, don’t worry too much if you can’t think of how they will benefit from you. However, make sure you pay it forward, help others within your reach as well, hold nothing back when giving off your self, be the guide/mentor you wished you had to them.
