This will be my last LinkedIn post for a while— it has been very fun but I have to focus on other projects. Our post series has gotten more than 300,000 views and 3000 likes, and I hope it has done something to amplify the message “Culture Matters” at a time when culture is heavily deprioritized in most companies. The key messages of the series: ⚙️ Culture is a company’s operating system that governs thousands of value-creating or destroying algorithms (e.g, “Do I raise my hand in this meeting or not?”). 💸 Culture encompasses much more than just employee satisfaction (although it is the most powerful driver of this too), and companies should always prioritize culture regardless of labor market conditions if they want to create economic value. 🤖 We are at a special time in culture. Advances in AI allow us to understand culture and ways to improve it much better than was ever possible before. Traditional methods of managing culture (lengthy engagement surveys) are largely ineffective. 😢 Toxic culture is an especially pernicious kind of culture that must be addressed. All companies have pockets of toxicity, to differing extents, and toxicity is the surest way to destroy a culture. Because of its scale toxic culture is a social, as well as organizational, issue. Now we understand what it is and how to stop it better than ever before. 💥 Glassdoor is a unique, valuable, and reliable data source that enables organizations to understand and improve their cultures effectively. Contrary to popular belief, it is not negatively biased. Analyzing big data on Glassdoor with AI sheds insight on culture in countless ways (e.g., establishing the relationship between ownership and trust). If you’re interested, go to my profile and check through recent posts to see what I have learned about these issues over this ten-year research / advisory journey.  David Green 🇺🇦 you’re our favorite influencer, I hope you enjoy If anyone wants to keep up with what we are doing at CultureX, I encourage you to check out our Culture Champions podcast and MIT Sloan Management Review series. We have had fantastic conversations with the CEO/CHROs of some of the greatest cultures in the world: Hermès, Bain and Company, the LEGO Group, HubSpot, and more. I have learned so much about how to build a strong culture from these conversations, and we are just getting started. Stay tuned for our conversation with the CEO of Ferrari in early 2025. Thanks for all the great resources! However, I think it is misleading to say culture work is being deprioritized as much as it is being recalibrated to address core strategy, value creation, and excellence rather than some other areas that were co-opted and in many cases misused to advance agendas that were, at the end of the day, toxic themselves. #CultureMatters

The operating system metaphor of culture is a good one. It certainly impacts countless situations that drive flourishing (productivity and well-being). I appreciate the window your data has given us into that, Charlie Sull. I'm grateful to have discovered your work, and I'll take a look at your previous posts.
