Unknown: Hey there... you know, writing resumes and getting jobs is not always been easy for me. But here's what made the difference in high school. I knew I wanted a programming degree. Why? Because I would stay up late at night coding. I loved it. I just I fell in love with that. So I knew when I went to college to get an IT degree in programming, MIS. But during my internship, I saw something that I never would have expected. I saw a lady get handed a box and I knew right then and there that I was in my career. Nobody else. It wasn't long before I got proof. a semester before I graduated, there were people getting snatched up, they were getting offers and basically getting the job before they graduated. But I went a several months without getting a job right after I graduated so yeah, "I" was in charge. So I progressed in my career and updated that r��sum�� and I can't tell you how many times that I've changed it! how it's morphed and all the different ways that it's looked. You know, in the moment, it looks incredible. It's like, Oh, this is the best resume ever, right? And then you look at it later. It doesn't take much time. You look at it later and you think, Oh my god, what was I doing? But eventually I got my resume good enough that I put it on a job board on a Sunday and Monday morning got a call that eventually led to that job with relocation so I got pretty good at it, you could say, based on that experience... but you know what? eventually I realized that you can't do it alone... because I struggled and I needed help! I was in a bad situation with a toxic boss and no resume was going to help what helped? a gentleman was offering a free workshop and resume reviews all you had to do was ask... and it was his way of giving back so I took him up on the offer, you know, as much as I thought ... I remember, actually, I remember going in there thinking, "I know a lot about resumes... I don't need this guy's help." And he got me to realize he I mean to challenge my thinking and got me to realize ... how my background might appear on paper and it was huge! It was huge. I needed to be more aware of the What's In It For Me (WIIFM) - other people, how they might perceive it it was huge. and not only that he got me to highlight results better and he... basically because of that, the confidence grew and he got me out of a bad situation and got me started on consulting. So today I'm doing what I can to give back. luckily, actually, I'm not alone. I've had the pleasure of collaborating with some others who are offering similar help. some wonderful examples! And Ira Bowman SPN is one. he really got me pushed on this just tireless sky he just keeps on working keeps on helping everybody for free. It's amazing. Another person Jeff young. learned so much from him on LinkedIn. And you know, now we collaborate. We share tips, we do whatever we can to help each other. And it's been wonderful and he has an amazing LinkedIn group if you ever want to learn about LinkedIn insider tips and also Courtney Kirschbaum. you know she's got her job on school that I find is just amazing you know for a nominal amount of money you know for what she doesn't already give you for free you can go in there and at your at your own leisure you know you can take a course and find out all the things you want to know about LinkedIn so what you need when you need - it's something that I really like, that model so, you know, get this: I'm I'm working two jobs and I still make time to help people doing what I can I can't help everybody but I'm doing what I can I'm doing a #3FreeTips daily ... and it's also kind of turning into a #ProfilePopUp that I do a quick video review on a cell phone and I do that daily just because I know that that could help it helps show people what I do... it helps give them ideas, it can help them try new things, mix it up. And that's basically what I'm hearing from the comments. And that's great because that's, that's exactly why I'm doing it. So, you know, the other big reason why I'm doing it is because selling yourself is hard, but doing it alone is harder! So don't be afraid to ask. Don't be afraid to reach out, look for the resources but keep in mind you've got to do the work you can't ...expect other people to do the work for you. But do reach out, look for the encouragement, look for the help when it's out there. hope that helped. Thanks. :)
