8 Deadly Sins on #LinkedIn for New #Freelancers Based on my Personal Experience, these are the things that you need to avoid when starting on LinkedIn. Looking back makes me cringe, so today I'm helping you avoid the same mistakes. 1. #ColdEmailing - definitely annoying - 2 options when you send that mail: Delete or Block - establish relationship first, engage meaningfully, avoid spamming people's Inmail on LinkedIn because what will happen if clients get annoyed, nobody would used LinkedIn anymore. No qualified leads, means No business. - LinkedIn is NOT Tinder 2. Too good to be true Offers - Don't exaggerate - clients will know if you are a bluff - ex. I help businesses earn 7 digit, when you don't even have a recommendation or endorsement from previous clients. 3. All about me - Avoid selling yourself too much - focus on the results and solutions you could give. - share your insights, add value 4. Shabby Content Design - Inconsistent designs shows weak branding - curate your own design - work on your personal branding 5. Fear of criticism - when you fear others opinions you will never know your true potential - embrace your imperfections - your uniqueness is Your edge 6. Fear of sharing what I know - nobody cares about what school you graduated or how good you are - you need to share a piece of yourself, your expertise, or experiences on the platform - sharing your knowledge will not make you less 7. Fear of asking - Don't be afraid to ask questions, however, be polite. - Never ask personal questions ( Big NO NO) 8. Engaging to others is a weakness - A valuable comment is also a content - if you think it would be your loss if you share your insights on others content, believe me you are making the BIGGEST MISTAKE - Give more than what you can take - Nobody really cares about what you wrote unless you start engaging with others too After all, #LinkedIn is a professional platform where we can be ourselves while respecting other people. I haven't finished reading because I want to comment on how I strongly agree that LinkedIn is not TINDER! Jusko, I have a bad experience related to that here on this platform. Nakakaloka madam.
I'll keep this in mind.
valuable reminder .
This was a good read Nurjesa Shehadeh I'll sure keep this in mind going forward.
That's a great list! Definitely don't exaggerate. You won't win anything by doing that. People can see through that indeed and you loose credibility. Honesty is important and being yourself. 😊
