People will be able to place orders in this virtual world in real time through giant advertising screens. 🧩 There will be unique features such as 360-degree product viewers, virtual AR and VR fittings and much more. 🧩 Shoppers can then purchase the products they want in this metaverse and then receive the physical packages in the real world. 🧩 This isn’t the first time Taobao has given a metaverse shopping experience. They engaged technologically savvy Chinese shoppers in last year's 618 and Double 11 as well. With big retailers in China still going for the metaverse and new policies in place, does the metaverse still have a place in China 2023? ✅ Metaverse market size. China's metaverse market size is expected to reach 126.35 billion yuan in 2027, at a CAGR of 32.98% from 2022. ✅ Artificial intelligence value. The China Business Industry Research Institute predicts that the scale of China's artificial intelligence market will reach 381.07 billion yuan in 2023. ✅ VR/AR Industry going up. In France, cosmetics brands exporting to China have identified the metaverse / "metaverse makeup" like live streaming as big trends for 2023 in China, particularly with the success, with Generation Z, of Liu Yexi, virtual influencer. It's not only case for major French brands working with key metaverse french companies, but also of smaller ones using the Web 3 and the metaverse as a retail lever for their promotion, notably in China, NFT promotional campaigns or Blockchain.
I think the potential is absolutely there for this to be massive...disruptive (in a positive sense) on the way customers shop
While here in Europe we're trying to make live shopping real via TikTok in 2023, retail marketing in China is in 2323. Love seeing the potential of the metaverse
