What are the big ideas shaping your vision for 2025? The healthcare landscape is evolving rapidly, and 2025 will demand bold, innovative solutions to ensure progress is both meaningful and sustainable. As I reflect on LinkedIn's Big Ideas for 2025, here are a few predictions I’m watching closely: 🌟 Value-based care (VBC) continues to gain traction, with tech companies stepping in to extend and support the clinical workforce—think assistants or copilots for pharmacists and other healthcare professionals. Some of these innovations will thrive; others may fall short, but the evolution towards value to deliver better care more efficiently is encouraging. 🌟 Healthcare equity remains a critical priority. Over the last two decades, we’ve made strides to improve equitable access for underserved populations, including rural, minority, and LGBTQ communities. Let’s not let those efforts falter—now is the time to double down, not pull back. 🌟 Strategic collaboration over consolidation. As Rod Hochman, M.D. aptly noted, solving healthcare’s biggest challenges requires convening diverse voices and disciplines—from tech to engineering—not just traditional mergers. And perhaps most importantly, we need to remain vigilant against misinformation and prepare for future public health challenges. Clear communication and critical thinking will be essential as we navigate what’s next. #BigIdeas2025

Reflections from Women of Silicon Roundabout #wosr24 We must leverage AI and other cutting-edge technologies to move beyond human-centred design and embrace a more life-centred approach 🌏 👉 Focusing solely on humans during their 9-to-5 is no longer enough. Our society is demanding change and organisations need to respond. This shift isn’t just a theoretical concept, it’s a mindset transforming how businesses engage with their people. 👉 Forward-thinking companies are realising the importance of well-being, equity, purpose and a more holistic approach. From flexible work policies and wellness programs to robust DEI initiatives, they’re designing systems that address the interconnected needs of individuals, teams, and the planet. 👉 An example - the Olympics. The games are no longer just about tallying medal counts. Audiences now seek deeper narratives - the personal challenges, cultural influences, and ecosystems that shape athletes’ journeys. Technology has amplified this storytelling, fostering greater connections, engagement, and inspiring meaningful lifestyle changes, such as adopting training plans or sustainable habits. This mindset is increasingly shaping how people want to engage with their workplace. The message is clear: organisations that prioritise a life-centred approach will not only attract top talent but also create a more resilient, innovative, and compassionate workforce. By embracing technology, empathy, and a commitment to well-being, businesses must lead the charge in shaping a more sustainable and meaningful work experience. There are frequent moments when I am so delighted to be part of the She's the Boss network because of the depth and intelligence of the conversations, problem solving and business acumen shared by women, in the way women loved to work together to support each other. Today's online lunch was another of those times. A small group today but a rich representation of women interests. Of the multiple subjects explored the discussion about AI was inspiring. Therese Tarlinton described just how practical it is to make AI a valuable and integrated tool in business planning and marketing. Such simple activities and strategies that I had several light bulb moments. And how that might make sense to women unfamiliar with that technology, like me, sadly. AI is a learning tool and we need to make sure that AI reflects women's interests by contributing and inputting our voices and vision. How important it is for women's voices to be actively engaged and contributing to the AI database, because this is the latest avenue where once again, we risk being silenced by the volume of men's business and interests, broadly speaking, dominating the landscape AI will be creating in real time, right now. Women make up the majority of small business owners and teh majority of women in business are well over 40 years old. Technology may not be our best friend. We need to make sure that women's voices and views are at least 50% of the data. I'm not sure of the research, but I suspect the stats are currently much less than that. The conversation went on diverse topics, (it was women's business, after all), considering timelines across the year of predictable workplace and business stress, grants opportunities, self-published books and so much more. We didn't have 💥Jules Brooke with us today- Brenda Keane facilitated an easy vibe. Great to meet up again with Nikki Cali, Ann Dettori and Liza Rose (M. Des, RMIT). I'm proud to be an SA Ambassador for She's the Boss! The next real time and in person lunch is Tuesday May 21st, 12.30pm start at the Caledonian Hotel, North Adelaide. Come join the opportunity to meet dynamic women who are interesting and interested in you. The booking link is: https://lnkd.in/gBPEB3c5 #shestheboss #Fridayonlinelunch #AIforwomen #

"My sad prediction for 2025, and I truly hope I’m wrong." 📉 Prediction: I’m deeply concerned we’ll see a growing backlash against Diversity, Equity, Inclusion, and Belonging Why? I’m already hearing troubling murmurs: Complaints of ‘awareness day fatigue’ and ‘webinar overload.’ Claims that DEI unfairly advantages some while sidelining others. Tight budgets prompting cuts to DEI initiatives. 📈 Reality Check: Here’s what we can’t afford to ignore: DEI&B drives talent attraction and retention. It fuels engagement, creativity, and collaboration. It creates a culture where employees feel valued and safe, allowing them to thrive. 💡 The Challenge: While many organisations focus on diversity and equity, the real work lies in inclusion and belonging—changing workplace culture and how people genuinely feel. That’s harder to measure but absolutely critical. 💬 Your Role: Here’s where LinkedIn comes in: this platform is your space to show up authentically, share your challenges, and normalize the complexities of work-life integration. The more we show up as ourselves, the more we build understanding and connection. Together, we can push back against this potential backlash and advocate for what we know makes workplaces—and people—better. 🔗 Call to Action: Be brave. Be authentic. And let’s all commit to nurturing DEI&B—not just because it’s good business sense, but because it’s the right thing to do. What prediction or trend do you expect to have the biggest impact in the year ahead, and why? #BigIdeas2025 #LinkedInNewsEurope

When discussing diversity, companies often focus on metrics and performance across different dimensions like gender and ethnicity. While it’s beneficial to track diversity, as it might highlight some issues, it should not be pursued solely to meet KPIs 📈 Yesterday at the #SHE2024 conference Microsoft’s Kristine Dahl Steidel emphasised that we need to be clear on why diversity is important and that we know that a more diverse team leads to better innovation. Christin E. Bøsterud said that diversity only matter if you utilise it. After investing time in hiring a diverse team, we must shift our focus from demonstrating how we do things to harnessing the unique perspectives we hired them for. At Völur I’m fortunate to be part of a diverse team. We come from different parts of the world and have different backgrounds, and a diverse team will be a key part of our success. It is only by combining deep industry knowledge with data and AI we can reach our goal of a more sustainable and optimised meat industry. ☘ Thus, we need a team with diverse backgrounds from the industry, AI and tech and people with a commercial mindset. 🙌 Thanks to the SHE Community for giving me some new perspectives when thinking about diversity and inclusion.
