Your team is struggling to grasp ROI in digital strategy. How can you make it resonate with them?
Make it real and do the math. ROI isn't one-size-fits-all. Nor does it suit every company objective. There are nuances by market, by function, and by business model. In healthcare, there is an additional complexity, which is that traditional ROI doesn't capture critical elements like quality improvements, closures of gaps in care, or increases in access an patient satisfaction. This makes the pursuit of raw ROI offensive to clinicians. The key is to do the work in advance so you are speaking in a language that is both understandable and relatable to your team, while being aligned with company goals and metrics.

What are the key benefits of IT strategy consulting?
Like Mike Tyson says, everyone has a strategy until they get punched in the face. Same is true with IT strategy; the best laid plans are quickly waylaid by the punches in the face of reality. So what to do? Spend more time planning. Be ready for everything. Think through contingencies. Model out scenarios. Know where you are headed and build ROI maps to support your plans. Track your results against those plans and adapt. Iterate. Redirect. Continuously improve and steer towards value. Be ready, because you know the punches are coming.
