About

Passionate about saving lives and strengthening construction against natural disasters, I joined IBHS as the Codes & Standards Associate, in September 2020. My educational background is as follows: B. Sc in Civil Engineering, M. Sc. in Earthquake Engineering, and a Ph.D. in Civil Engineering.

My Ph.D. focused on the thermo-mechanical behavior of T-shaped steel doweled connections in tall timber buildings.

Prior to joining IBHS, I was working as a research and teaching assistant at UNCC. As a Civil Engineer, I designed structures and performed construction inspections.

I am interested in the following subjects:
- Structural strengthening;
- Fire Performance of structures;
- Finite element simulation of structural assemblies at elevated temperatures;
- Experimental fire resistance tests;
- Seismic performance of structures;
- Earthquake energy dissipators and base isolators;
- Tall Timber Buildings and mass timber constructions;
I am also interested in swimming, scuba diving, and hiking. I enjoy watching soccer and FC Perspolis is my favorite soccer club.
