The ideal candidate will be involved with preparing financial reports and statements, bank reconciliations, and conducting cyclical audits. Moreover, the candidate must have strong interpersonal skills and possess a strong business acumen.
QUALIFICATIONS
Bachelor's degree in Accounting
A minimum of one year of experience in accounting, financial analysis and reporting, and reconciling general ledger accounts
Municipal government experience is HIGHLY PREFERRED
Knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principals (GAAP)
PRINCIPLE RESPONSIBILITIES
Compiles and generates journal entries and spreadsheets
Verifies and records daily banking activity and performs month-end bank reconciliations
Reconciles various balance sheet accounts to subsidiary ledgers or other documentation
Documents work papers as needed, describing various accounting procedures, purpose, and description of the activity for re-performability
Analyzes general ledger transactions and reports
Prepares various financial reports and analyses
Prepares assigned portions of the annual financial statements according to established accounting standards and within time constraints
Provides guidance on fiscal procedures, processes, and systems to department end-users
Compensation:
$25/hr to 40/hr
Exact compensation may vary based on several factors, including skills, experience, and education.
Benefit packages for this role will start on the 31st day of employment and include medical, dental, and vision insurance, as well as HSA, FSA, and DCFSA account options, and 401k retirement account access with employer matching. Employees in this role are also entitled to paid sick leave and/or other paid time off as provided by applicable law.
