Summary

Performs a variety of accounting related duties including but not limited to: management of general accounting and accounts payable functions for Proman Staffing and related entities.


Responsibilities

  • Maintains accuracy and integrity of accounting general ledger activity within designated accounting system.
  • Prepares detailed monthly financial statements timely based on organizational structure according to annual fiscal calendar.
  • Manages and reviews accounting journal entries prepared by accounting staff.
  • Manages and reviews monthly bank and other balance sheet account reconciliations prepared by accounting staff.
  • Manages and reviews analysis of revenues & expense accounts as needed by management.
  • Maintains and reviews fixed asset records to assure appropriate detail for tracking, depreciation, and tax purposes.
  • Manages accounts payable staff and assures vendors are paid according to terms, and items are recorded accurately in the accounting general ledgers.
  • Maintains approved vendors in accounts payable system and assures compliance for 1099 tax information.
  • Maintains appropriate communications and goals for accounting & accounts payable staff, and regularly reviews responsibilities and performance of all direct reports.
  • Provides requested financial information to all outside auditors and agencies as necessary.
  • Special projects and additional items requested by management.


Job Requirements

  • This is a sedentary role in an office environment.
  • May involve some lifting of files and boxes.
  • May involve bending or standing to file documents.
  • May need to travel to local branch offices to meet with employees.
  • Must be able to stand, use hands and fingers and reach with hands and arms.


Skills & Abilities

  • Must be able to work with financial information and keep that information secure by sharing it only with the appropriate internal & external personnel.
  • Must be results oriented, knowing when to take action and when to seek guidance or permission; organized and adaptable to changing work conditions.
  • Must be able to identify and resolve somewhat complex problems.
  • Must be able to handle sensitive or difficult issues with confidence and in a calm manner without being unduly influenced by intense emotions.
  • Must demonstrate strong customer service and team orientation.
  • Professional in communications with customers and team.
  • Excellent communication (listening, speaking, writing) & diplomacy skills.
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Windows, Outlook and Internet Explorer. Skilled in use of Excel, PowerPoint, and Word tools.
  • Experience using other standard office equipment such as telephone, photocopier, and fax machine.


Qualifications

  • BA in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or related field required or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • At least five years of experience working in an accounting environment.
  • At least one year of management experience preferred.
