About The Role:

As we revitalize the Grubhub brand, we’re looking for a best-in-class Associate Creative Director (Copy) to guide our brand evolution. You’ll concept, write, and oversee projects across all aspects of our business. You’ll be a leader overseeing a team of 4 copywriters within our 14-person Creative Team. This role will be hybrid with the expectation of two days a week in our Chicago or New York City office.


Responsibilities:

  • Lead the development of effective, engaging, hunger-inducing work for video, social, email, digital ads, blogs, websites and beyond
  • Present creative work with confidence, clarity, and sound rationale to both executive leadership, peers, and partners
  • Be a proactive communicator with our own creative team, as well as stakeholders and executive leadership
  • Lead with a player-coach mentality—guiding the team but also producing work as a high-level individual contributor as well
  • Demonstrate strong knowledge of creating and being a steward for brand personality and TOV
  • Deliver high-quality, meticulously crafted work in a fast-paced environment
  • Manage, mentor and guide writers in the Chicago and New York offices
  • Determine resources for upcoming projects and ensure they are allocated to meet deadlines
  • Collaborate with the product copy team on initiatives, as well as international copy partners as needed
  • Embrace daily challenges and be resourceful in solving problems
  • Collaborate effectively with internal stakeholders and external vendors
  • Manage working time and stay organized to handle multiple assignments and meet all deadlines
  • Shape the team culture by leading with a spirit of collaboration, empathy, and inclusivity


You should have:

  • Portfolio (with link) demonstrating strategic, conceptual, and original work
  • Experience writing copy for multiple formats, from pitch decks to email, social, and landing pages
  • 8+ years of professional experience at an agency, studio, or in-house working in digital and print
  • 3-5 years of professional experience as a people manager
  • Bachelor's degree required
  • Confident presentation skills
  • Must be comfortable with domestic travel
  • Must be comfortable using Gmail, Google Docs, and Slack

NY Salary Range: $132k-198k

The Base Pay component of our Total Rewards package is based on a variety of factors including but not limited to: job responsibilities, location, experience and, education/certifications. In addition to the pay component, this role may be eligible for equity and benefits as part of the Total Rewards package. The Total Rewards package will be determined at the time a contingent offer is made
