The Business Development Officer has responsibility for initiating new client relationships and creating brand awareness in the markets served by Savant Wealth Management. This is a regional Business Development Officer role, which will focus on our Southeast region. This role is responsible following through on leads generated through custodial referral partners, digital marketing efforts, and others. This Business Development Officer will build and maintain strong relationships, present our value proposition and educate others on what is new with Savant.
The Business Development Officer can expect to focus in the following areas:
Convert and close assets under management from multiple lead channels into new Savant clients
Identify prospective Savant clients or referral sources by educating about and positioning Savant capabilities to generate awareness, deliver solutions and drive new revenue
Call on prospects and Centers of Influence to sell the full spectrum of Savant services.
Cultivate referrals/leads, generate interest and collaborate with other Savant advisors to close the sale
Work with management and/or advisors to establish and execute the appropriate activities, tactics and strategies to generate, identify and pursue new opportunities and successfully close the sale
Meet with and educate Savant principals to position the value of Savant capabilities.
Assess new business opportunities on a consistent basis
Respond to new business inquiries and requests for proposals.
Maintain territory and focus lists.
Complete timely, accurate and complete sales administration tasks, as determined by the business.
Build and maintain strong relationships with branches and referral networks through activity-based measurements.
Travel throughout the region while juggling role responsibilities and multi-tasking.
Qualifications
The Business Development Financial Advisor position typically requires the following qualifications:
Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited college or university.
Minimum 7 years’ experience in investment management and/or Financial Advisor services with demonstrated ability to develop and manage plans and manage client relationships
Financial planning/wealth management acumen, judgment, and experience
Series 65 License
Ability to travel to various markets 50-80% of the time
Able to work collaboratively and effectively with other members of the organization, both in management and individual contributors
Effective verbal and written communication skills
Excellent listening skills
Proficiency in MS Word, Excel and Outlook
Client first attitude
A team player, with strong coaching and leadership skills
