Rankings, Submissions, and Awards Specialist


The position of Rankings, Submissions, and Awards Specialist at the law firm in Washington, DC involves managing various aspects crucial to enhancing the firm's market recognition and reputation.

Responsibilities:

  1. Experience Management:

    • Lead efforts in summarizing cases and matters for the firm.
    • Gather information from attorneys regarding achievements and practice group activities.
    • Maintain and coordinate the firm's experience management system to track case/matter information and associate it with relevant attorneys.
    • Process case outcome summaries for internal and external marketing materials.
  2. Surveys, Directories, and Firm Rankings:

    • Evaluate opportunities to participate in surveys and directories that align with the firm's strategic objectives.
    • Develop and maintain a submissions dashboard for drafting survey and directory submissions.
    • Coordinate responses to surveys requesting information about the firm, its practices, and attorneys.
    • Draft compelling narratives highlighting firm successes and attorney accomplishments.
    • Schedule and summarize research calls between attorneys and ranking publication interviewers.
  3. Promotion and Communication:

    • Manage the firm's directory listings and profiles across various publications.
    • Coordinate with PR agencies and team members to secure media coverage for case wins.
    • Execute promotion strategies for firm and attorney rankings and awards, including drafting press releases, media mentions, and social media posts.
    • Track rankings and awards and update marketing materials and professional biographies accordingly.
  4. Administration and Project Management:

    • Monitor project progress to ensure deadlines are met, working with vendors and firm personnel as necessary.
    • Conduct process improvement analysis for rankings and submissions cycles and implement improvements.
    • Maintain organized files related to job responsibilities, including firm experience, surveys, awards, and directories.
    • Develop and update department procedure sheets as needed.
    • Manage the annual budget for relevant areas.

Qualifications:

  • Education and Experience:

    • Bachelor's degree in communications, public relations, marketing, journalism, or a relevant field.
    • Minimum of 4 years of experience in a professional services environment, with specific experience in rankings, submissions, awards management, or related fields.
  • Skills:

    • Familiarity with major legal rankings and publications such as American Lawyer, Law360, Legal 500, etc.
    • Excellent writing skills with a strong ability to draft compelling narratives and communications.
    • Effective communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to influence and collaborate effectively.
    • Detail-oriented with strong grammatical, editing, and proofreading skills.

This role requires someone who can effectively manage multiple responsibilities related to maintaining and enhancing the firm's reputation through strategic submissions, communication, and project management.
