About The Role

We’re looking for our first Operations Manager. This is a role with a high level of autonomy and responsibility. You will report to the Head of Legal and work closely with our team to provide support in a variety of key activities, including improvement of key processes, implementation of systems and structure, project management, execution of partner and client-related deliverables, supporting our Risk and Compliance programs, develop policies and procedures, reporting Compliance program performance and results to senior management, external 3rd party partners, and customers. You will also support our Sales team by assisting with customer due diligence requests. Finally, supporting the Finance team, overseeing our service providers, and conducting periodic risk assessments. As the day-to-day Caliza operations expert in a team of 1, you will be an essential member of our team enabling a compliant and safe customer experience.

Your Responsibilities

  • Operations: Manage our business operations activities by setting achievable short-term and long-term goals and act as a generalist in getting anything, and everything done to help the company grow; anticipate challenges, react promptly and calmly to necessary changes, and ease our growing pains.
  • Relationship Management: Manage partner and customer relationships to ensure timely completion of due diligence of all relevant matters and manage bank relationships, banking operations, and finance operations.
  • Compliance and Risk: Conduct risk assessments, document findings, and provide insights for resource allocation. Train new and existing team members in compliance with best practices. Additionally, review documentation for new end-user accounts, evaluate high-risk accounts, test automated and manual controls, and create and implement plans to enhance said controls.
  • Support: Provide post-customer go-live support in service of maximizing our customers’ experience with Caliza.

What You Will Need

  • Bachelor’s degree with 3-5 years of progressive experience in the financial services industry, including managing other professionals in a regulated environment
  • Direct Customer, Partner or Client-facing experience and a proven ability to engage, build, and nurture relationships with multiple stakeholders
  • Ability to thrive while working independently and critically apply a risk lens to all areas of work
  • Able to thrive at a startup, i.e., in a fast-paced environment with high levels of ambiguity, including experience bringing initiatives “from 0 to 1”
  • An excellent proactive communicator

Nice to Haves

  • Direct compliance and risk management experience or experience implementing processes based on regulations is a plus
  • Spanish and/or Portuguese language proficiency is a plus

The Pay Range For This Role Is

100,000 - 135,000 USD per year(Remote - United States)
