Job Summary: The CFO will play a crucial role in shaping the financial strategy and ensuring the financial health of the company. Reporting directly to the CEO, the CFO will be responsible for overseeing all financial activities, driving financial planning, and implementing robust financial systems and controls. The ideal candidate will bring a wealth of experience in the insurance industry, coupled with a deep understanding of the financial dynamics specific to homeowners insurance in Florida.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and execute the financial strategy of the company in alignment with overall business objectives.
  • Oversee all financial operations, including accounting, budgeting, forecasting, and financial reporting.
  • Lead the development and implementation of financial policies, procedures, and controls to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and industry best practices.
  • Provide strategic financial guidance to the CEO and executive team to support decision-making and business growth.
  • Manage relationships with external stakeholders, including auditors, regulators, investors, and financial institutions.
  • Monitor and analyze financial performance, identifying areas for improvement and implementing corrective actions as needed.
  • Ensure effective cash flow management and optimize capital structure to support business operations and growth initiatives.
  • Lead and mentor the finance and accounting team, fostering a culture of continuous improvement and professional development.
  • Stay abreast of industry trends, economic developments, and regulatory changes impacting the homeowners insurance market in Florida.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related field; MBA or CPA preferred.
  • Minimum of 10 years of progressive financial leadership experience, with a significant portion in the insurance industry.
  • Proven track record of success in a CFO or senior financial leadership role within the homeowners insurance sector.
  • In-depth knowledge of insurance accounting principles, regulatory requirements, and financial reporting standards.
  • Strong strategic thinking and analytical skills, with the ability to translate complex financial data into actionable insights.
  • Excellent leadership and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively communicate and collaborate with stakeholders at all levels.
  • Demonstrated experience in financial planning, budgeting, forecasting, and performance analysis.
  • Strong understanding of the financial dynamics and challenges specific to the Florida homeowners insurance market.
