Chief Marketing Officer

Role:

 

To improve the bank's competitive position, consistent with its mission, within the markets served; develops objectives, policies and programs for marketing activities of the bank; plans, directs, and coordinates the efforts of marketing and sales toward the accomplishment of overall objectives; supplies advice and assistance to the senior management and other operating units within the organization.

 

Essential Functions & Responsibilities:

Directs all advertising and sales promotions. Develops advertising programs and collateral materials.

Directs marketing and sales planning, including an analysis of competitive products/services and selling techniques, legislation, budgets, pricing and distribution.

Develops, proposes, gains acceptance for, and implements strategic plans designed to meet the bank's short- and long-term marketing objectives.

Coordinates special events: monitors planning, schedules, and implementation as required for proper execution of each event.

Promotes bank to employees to maintain a positive relationship.

Conducts market research and recommends for product/service modifications or improvements.

Oversees the marketing department; hires, trains, directs, and evaluates employee performance; recommends promotions/transfers and salary adjustments.

Performance Measurements:

To comply with the letter and with the spirit of the bank's Code of Business Conduct and Ethics.

To maintain the confidentiality of customer and any other sensitive information.

To help develop the skills and knowledge of department/branch staff; to conduct performance reviews and foster the development of department/branch staff.

To achieve the bank's planned market share, assets, loans, and other product/service objectives.

5.

To provide direction and recommendations to management, based on current research data, regarding market strategies and directions the bank should take.

6.

To deliver planned results within budget, meeting Bank's growth objective with respect to new sponsor groups..

7.

To maintain a professional, courteous, and friendly atmosphere for customers and co-workers.

8.

To accomplish all assigned projects according to policy and procedures, keeping management informed of any problematic areas.

9.

To acquire and maintain a working knowledge of regulations and bank procedures; to comply with the provisions of the Bank Secrecy Act and other laws and regulations.

10.

To complete required training and undertake additional training as needed to increase job knowledge and maximize productivity.

11.

To develop and maintain a positive and productive working relationship with department/branch staff.

 

Knowledge and Skills:

 

Experience

Eight years to ten years similar or related experience.

 

Education

(1) A master's degree, or (2) a bachelor's degree plus professional certification (e.g. CPA).

 

Interpersonal Skills

Work frequently involves exercising advanced conflict resolution, giving material presentations, and resolving issues impacting multiple departments or divisions. Role also requires the ability to motivate or influence others as a material part of the role, with a significant level of diplomacy and trust. Obtaining cooperation (internally and/or externally) is an important part of the role and a high level of interpersonal skills is critical to the success of this position.

 

Other Skills

Good communication skills.

 

Physical Requirements

The person in this position needs to frequently move about inside the office to interact with associates or vendors and access office machinery and file cabinets. The person in the position constantly operates a computer and other office productivity machinery, such as a calculator, photocopier, and printer.

 

Work Environment

This job operates in a professional office environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as calculators, computers, phones, photocopier, filing cabinets and fax machines.
