Overview

TRC is seeking a Climate Risk and Resilience Specialist to join our team supporting clients’ growing needs in climate impact and adaptation. The successful candidate will be highly motivated with excellent written and verbal communication skills. Our team supports transportation agencies, utilities, energy, state agencies, private equity, investors and industrial clients. Boston or New York City is the preferred location, but we are open to candidates from other US locations.

Responsibilities

  • Input to innovative approaches we use to assess climate risks and support actionable strategies for clients
  • Perform climate-related impact analyses
  • Develop climate implementation plans
  • Manage tasks and projects within budget and on time
  • Business development, including leading proposals
  • Quality control on materials developed by junior staff
  • Prepare technical summaries, memoranda, and email correspondence
  • Communicate effectively with clients and internal TRC staff
  • Other duties and special projects, as assigned

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree required. Prefer degrees in Environmental Science, Engineering, and/or Urban Policy
  • 5-10 years of applicable Climate Risk and Resilience experience. Previous consulting experience in a fast-paced, project-driven environment is preferred.
  • Experience developing impact functions, conducting risk and vulnerability assessments for transportation organizations, monetizing costs of damage/disruption, developing actionable strategies that includes stakeholder engagement, and producing implementation roadmaps
  • Connections within specific sectors such as transportation, energy and utilities to support business growth
  • Strong ability to prioritize, organize, and perform across multiple work assignments
  • Excellent research and communication skills are mandatory
  • Ability to work independently, as part of the team, and cross-collaboratively with other groups
  • Ability to prepare clear and concise reports, correspondence, and other written materials
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint

Compensation: Compensation will vary based upon experience, education, skill level, geographical location, and other compensable factors.

Other Compensation: Employee may be eligible for participation in the Company’s annual Discretionary Bonus Program which is contingent on Company, Business Segment, and Individual performance against Key Performance Indicators which vary by year and employee.
