Compliance & Sustainability Associate

CORE RESPONSIBILITIES/TASKS:

  • Set up and populate Style Master Testing Chart with relevant style information each season across all product categories.
  • Maintain chart with updates from internal and external partners: collating all testing information as well as revising with style additions, cancellations, and relevant design updates.
  • Oversee communication with suppliers and test labs monitoring sample submission status, recording tracking numbers for samples sent, and pushing for report release dates and test results.
  • Manage all incoming test reports, saving in a clear and accessible location as well as continually updating the Style Master Testing Chart with results.
  • Initiate seasonal meetings with the Development team for early pre-testing of high-risk materials.
  • Coordinate and track material testing followed by timely proto sample testing for high-risk items.
  • Request finished samples for testing as needed, working with PO team to place Testing POs where applicable and within the correct time frame.
  • Follow up with suppliers for timely sample submission and with labs for prompt report release dates.
  • Complete test request forms for suppliers when and where necessary.
  • Work cross functionally with the Production Department (PD) and Logistics teams to ensure timely testing and clearance of all products for successful weekly global releases.
  • Communicate testing failures to respective PD team members, consulting with Legal and Buy teams when necessary and providing possible solutions in a timely manner to avoid adversely affecting global release.
  • Work to remediate any failures with supplier and expedite re-testing for global market approval.
  • Relay solutions and decisions to the respective PD team member and Compliance & Sustainability Manager ensuring all parties notified of conclusion.
  • Support testing invoice approval.
  • Grow into a key liaison between suppliers and test labs to facilitate the testing process (training suppliers, providing direction, resolving issues).
  • Understand business needs and implement best practices including the refinement of the Compliance & Sustainability Team’s SOPs.
  • Provide backup support for other members on the Compliance & Sustainability Team when required.


QUALIFICATIONS/REQUIREMENTS:

  • 1-3 years professional experience preferred.
  • Bachelor’s degree in or related area preferred or equivalent work experience.
  • Ability to work quickly and accurately under pressure and time constraints.
  • Ability to prioritize in a fast-paced environment.
  • Must have keen attention to detail.
  • Must be a self-starter, able to work independently with a proactive working style.
  • Excellent customer service skills, personable and positive attitude.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to work in teams, seek input and drive solutions.
  • Proficient PC skills especially excel.


Salary Range: $65,000-$70,000/year
