The position will report to the Associate Director, Global Visual Merchandising.

Role Overview

This role will support the Global Visual Merchandising team, reporting to the Associate Director, Global Visual Merchandising. This individual is expected to execute the development of Visual Merchandising work that is aligned with our forward-thinking brand goals. They will partner closely with the Global Creative team to consistently elevate our in-store presence.

This individual must be a self-starter with an understanding of Visual Merchandising best practices with 3D rendering experience and be able to contribute and translate design ideas as they are introduced and as the Sol de Janeiro business grows. They must also have a keen understanding of design principles, space planning, and the importance of messaging hierarchies to help drive an elevated customer experience in-store.

Overall Responsibilities:

  • Support the development of Global Visual Merchandising guidelines and GTM retail initiatives supporting our New Product Launches (NPL) and Tentpole Marketing Campaigns to the highest possible standards.
  • In collaboration with Global VM team, translate and adapt GTM design concepts into VM spaces through sketches and 3D renderings that drive VM guideline development.
  • Scale VM concepts across different VM spaces and formats in support of regional business needs.
  • Ensure brand design standards are upheld across all touch points through regular contribution in design reviews, planogram support, etc.
  • Organize and prepare 3D VM design files for final release to regional partners.

Job Requirements/Qualifications:

  • BA/BS/BFA degree in Graphic Design, Interior Design, Environmental Design, or Architecture
  • 5+ years experience working in a VM design or related creative role
  • Software Requirements: Adobe Creative Suite; Rhino, Sketchup or similar 3D modeling software; Keyshot or V-Ray
  • Understanding of 3D dimensional structures and spaces, lighting, vendor specifications, and technical drawings
  • Understanding of branding and graphic storytelling within the retail environment
  • Career track record that shows the candidate has a strong ability to prioritize and manage multiple projects and to meet deadlines using excellent organizational skills, quality execution and attention to detail.
  • Strong communication skills with ability to articulate ideas clearly and concisely – ability to provide and receive constructive feedback that is necessary to improve designs
  • Must be highly collaborative with ability to understand the objectives of all cross-functional partners and work toward a design that meets that need and upholds the creative integrity of the brand
  • Ability to be flexible and work in a fast-paced environment
  • Must be comfortable working a hybrid schedule (1-3 days per week in our NY Office)
  • Must be located in NYC and Surrounding Areas. This role is a temp-to-perm opportunity. Well-qualified individuals seeking to counter a freelance trial will be asked to complete a Test Project.

Salary Range

$80,000—$90,000 USD

In addition to base salary, this position is eligible for participation in a highly competitive bonus program with the possibility for overachievement based on performance and company results.
