Director of Strategy

Overview:

We are seeking an experienced and resourceful individual to join a global investment, technology and energy firm. The company employs a diverse range of strategies, including proprietary trading, investment in various asset classes, and the development of cutting-edge software and technologies.

This position will direct and advise on strategy for the renewable energy division, where the company own and operate more than 70 projects across the USA.

Responsibilities:

• Evaluate projects’ risk-adjusted return profiles and drive execution on a variety of transactions, including securing project offtake or power market origination, leading mergers and acquisitions, and managing bespoke financings or asset sell-downs.
• Collaborate closely with various internal groups, including development, finance, and physical teams, as well as joint venture partners.
• Implement business development opportunities and strategies, including evaluating power markets, supply and demand needs or constraints, and new offtake structures.
• Engage in both transactional activities (e.g., leading M&A and financings, executing power offtake) and high-level strategy and business development.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree and at least six years of relevant experience, particularly in project finance debt and tax equity.
• Experience in financing renewable energy assets is required.
• Strong understanding of energy capital markets and a keen analytical skill set.
• Record of academic and professional achievement, well-developed communication skills, ability to collaborate effectively within a small team, organizational acumen for handling multiple projects, and high motivation.
• Strong project-execution skills, creativity in problem-solving, and ability to build relationships with counterparties.
