The College Park Skyhawks, NBA G League affiliate of the Atlanta Hawks, are seeking a driven and positive individual to become our Director, Sales & Ticket Strategy. This position is responsible for the development and execution of ticket distribution and attendance strategies, group and season membership sales, and plan retention strategies. In addition, this position will also lead and oversee Skyhawks Account Executives.

The ideal person has a proven track record of successful revenue sales year over year. Primary responsibilities include creative product development that either drives ticket distribution and attendance or drives revenue. The successful candidate is also focused on providing strong leadership, development and direction to the Skyhawks Account Executives.

The team plays home games at Gateway Center Arena @ Georgia International Convention Center located in College Park. This position will report to senior leadership.

What You Will Do (Responsibilities)

  • Develop campaigns and initiatives that support ticket distribution, attendance and/or revenue.
  • Collaborate closely with leadership to review and develop new reporting insights that will aid in business execution.
  • Interview, hire, train and develop Account Executives.
  • Daily management of the Account Executives responsible for sales and driving attendance.
  • Lead ongoing weekly meetings and monitor weekly status of department staff for measuring productivity and results.
  • Manage rep’s pipelines using CRM dashboards, and ensure reps are properly utilizing CRM.
  • Responsible for performance management of team members.
  • Assist sales staff with closing techniques and account management to ensure achievement of revenue, ticket distribution and attendance goals.
  • Responsible for ongoing training and education for team members in the areas of sales, customer service, and personal development.
  • Effectively qualify leads and maintain an active pipeline of potential business opportunities.
  • Close deals on a full menu of products including but not limited to corporate partner packages, group tickets, season tickets and comp tickets.
  • Create and implement the hosting of sales and community events.
  • Collaborate with various departments to create promotions that will increase sales and drive attendance.
  • Coordinate ticket offers and distribution plan for corporate and community partners.
  • Responsible for overseeing in-game sales/ticketing initiatives and strategies.
  • Other related duties as assigned by senior leadership.

What we need from you: (Required Skills/Abilities)

  • Prior sports sales career and prior supervisory responsibilities preferred.
  • Some experience with ticketing programs (Archtics, Salesforce) is a plus.
  • High proficiency in Microsoft Suite of products (Word, Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint)
  • Ability to work extended days and hours, including holidays and weekends. This includes events and games.
  • Present themselves in a professional manner, and able to interact with all levels of the organization.
  • Highly motivated with a passion for sales, leadership, recruitment, development, and operations.
  • Represent the College Park Skyhawks in a positive, professional fashion to all clients and the general public.
  • Occasional travel is required. Example: community travel, end of year meetings, and worksite travel.
